In front of Hengfa Bike Shop on Daming Road.
When Chen Nuo jumped out of the taxi, he glanced at the time on his phone: it was just after nine in the morning.
Since it was the weekend, there was no morning rush hour to speak of, and the streets were not very busy with pedestrians and vehicles.
The bike shop's rolling shutter was closed, and the sign above it was still brand new. But someone had thrown a few eggs at the four big characters spelling out "Hengfa Bike Shop."
The shutter was undamaged, just a bit dirty, splashed with some paint or something similar, perhaps oil paint.
In front of the planter by the shop, a group of three to five people were huddled together, of varying heights and builds, clearly the sort of idle riffraff one might find in society.
They weren't idle; they had put up a big banner, red with black letters, which boldly stated:
