"Round 3: Blastoise vs Hisuian Goodra. Begin!"
"Your opponent is slower than you. Your Water Type attacks are useless on it, and you will slow yourself down the more you come into contact with its body," Aizen informed his Blue Tortoise.
Blastoise became very solemn after he heard those words.
"But you will have to come in contact with it."
Seeing his Pokémon nod to him, the Orayen Prince smiled.
"Dragon Pulse!"
"You too."
Egnar was surprised when he saw Blastoise use Dragon Pulse as well, but as expected, it was overpowered. After all, the Blue Tortoise was not a Dragon.
"Aqua Jet!"
Aizen ordered, and his Pokémon shot at its opponent at a speed that the Dragon could not dodge.
"Acid Spray as soon as it crashes into you!"
Blastoise winced when the acid was spat at him, but then cruelly looked at the Steel Goodra and used Waterfall.
"Protect!" Egnar, having seen this happen before in the tournament, worriedly called out, and it made Aizen smile.
Blastoise used Waterfall again, this time forcing the Steel Goodra up into the air, and when the Protect ended, it smashed its Focus Punch onto the Dragon.
"Withdraw! And Iron Defence!" the Orayen Prince urgently called out as the meteors started falling from the sky, and a couple of them crashed into Blastoise.
Both the Pokémon stood up when things calmed down, covered in mud and debris, and the Blue Tortoise was tired now.
The Hisuian Goodra was rattled after the Focus Punch, but then angrily roared as it shot out sparkling dew from its body, which helped it recover.
Seeing that the Dragon had used Life Dew, Aizen sighed in his heart.
"How much strength do you have in yourself, mate?"
"Blastoise!" The Pokémon smirked.
"Good. I need you to beat your opponent up."
General Blastoise immediately got to work with his tricks, and for the next minute, both Pokémon fought hard to take their opponent out.
Blastoise was completely exhausted after it managed to land a second Brick Break on the Steel Dragon, and he had slowed down considerably now, weighed down by both the mud and the gooey substance that Goodra was secreting.
"Return!" Aizen did not push him further.
Blastoise had already done his job.
"Go, Gengar!"
The Orayen Prince stared at the clock, and there was less than a minute left before Egnar could switch out Goodra.
"Finish it with your Brick Break." He ordered his Pokémon, who quickly got to work, making life difficult for the Steel Goodra.
However, the Dragon was quite resilient, and it managed to hold on.
Egnar quickly recalled it, and then smiled before he sent out his Tyranitar.
He intended to take out Gengar within the next four minutes before it could be switched again.
When he saw the Ghost Pokémon disappear into the ground, he immediately ordered his Tyranitar to use Earthquake, and the entire battlefield started shaking.
Gengar, however, had not entered the ground. He had only gone invisible, and he appeared next to Tyranitar's back leg and used an Aura Sphere on it, which forced the Rock Monster to fall into the muddy battlefield.
The Ghost Pokémon shot out another Aura Sphere before he got away and dodged the Stone Edge that Tyranitar had called out.
Gengar snickered at its fallen opponent but narrowed its eyes when Egnar asked Tyranitar to create a Sandstorm, and then it suffered from a powerful Dark Pulse that it failed to avoid.
However, to Tyranitar's disbelief, it rushed up to it at an alarmingly fast speed and smacked a Brick Break on its leg, making it stumble.
"Crunch!"
"Aura Sphere!"
Aizen's heart skipped a beat when he saw Gengar smash an Aura Sphere right into the face of Tyranitar.
Egnar was stunned when he saw the Pokémon he was pinning all his hopes on fall.
And as if it had not had enough, Gengar continued with a Brick Break on Tyranitar's belly, ending the round.
"Gengar..." it coldly said before it disappeared and then reappeared close to Aizen.
"Tyranitar is unable to battle. Gengar wins the third round!"
Egnar stared at the Ghost Pokémon in shock, and he now knew that he was in a lot of trouble.
Sending his Hisuian Goodra out again was not even an option unless he just wanted to see it lose.
He could only choose his fifth Pokémon, and he sighed and made his choice.
"Go, Hydreigon!"
Aizen quickly recalled Gengar and took a deep breath.
A smile crossed his lips when he plucked the Pokéball from his belt and then activated it before revealing his fourth Pokémon.
It was the one he had not revealed in the Conference yet.
"Clefable..." The sweet voice of the Fairy resounded in the Arena, and when she heard the crowd cheer for her, the shy Pokémon blushed a lot.
She was very tempted to rush to Aizen and hide behind him, but when she saw the Hydreigon in the air, her eyes turned serious.
"Round 4: Hydreigon vs Clefable. Begin!"
"Gravity." Aizen immediately instructed his Pokémon, who quickly increased the hold of gravity on the levitating Hydreigon.
"Hyper Voice!"
The Dark Dragon let out a terrifying scream, which hurt Clefable's ears, and then it started charging for Hyper Beam.
"Dazzling Gleam!" Aizen frowned as he called out the move, and he smiled when his Fairy did not fall under confusion and immediately jumped up, floating in the air.
And then her body started shining in colourful lights, which soon burst out and hit Hydreigon.
The Hyper Beam it had charged ended up hitting the battlefield below.
"Misty Terrain!" Aizen quickly ordered when Clefable landed on the battlefield, and her body started shining before a sparkling pink mist rose from the ground.
Hydreigon, who was still conscious, managed to levitate again, but was helpless when Clefable, understanding the intentions of her Trainer, used Nature Power.
The poor Dark Dragon was struck with a blast of Fairy Energy, and no one doubted that it had fallen unconscious.
"Hydreigon is unable to battle. Clefable wins the fourth round!"
"Clefable!" The Fairy happily jumped and floated to Aizen, who gently patted her head.
"Good job."
"Cle..fable..."
She shyly told him that it was very easy, and he laughed at her words.
"Go, get some rest now. And thank you."
He recalled her and waited for Egnar to reveal his final Pokémon.
The Silver Conference Winner took a deep breath before he sent out his Charizard, who proudly roared to the sky.
And the Orayen Prince smiled at it and then sent out another Pokémon whom he had not used in the Conference yet.
"Eeee!"
The sweet voice of the Dragon greeted everyone when Dragonair appeared in their sight, and its size surprised a lot of people.
"Round 5: Charizard vs Dragonair. Begin!"
The Charizard roared in the sky before it dived down, preparing a Dragon Claw, but the Dragonair quickly used Extreme Speed as it rushed up into the air.
On the way, its body was surrounded by purple Dragon Energy, and then it crashed right into Charizard with its Dragon Rush.
"Supersonic."
Aizen ordered when he saw that both Pokémon had suffered great damage, and Dragonair managed to use the move, which confused the Charizard.
However, to everyone's surprise, the Fire Pokémon managed to grab Dragonair and then started circling in the air before it used Seismic Toss.
"Thunder Wave." Aizen calmly called out the move, and his Pokémon managed to use it at the last moment, paralysing the Flying Pokémon.
Dragonair and Charizard crashed into the battlefield, but soon the serpent flew up again.
However, from the dust, Charizard too shot up, surprisingly fine, and it smashed its powerful Dragon Claw into Dragonair's body, sending it crashing into the ground.
"Dragon Rush!" Egnar called out the move, and Aizen frowned.
"Extreme Speed." He ordered, but his Pokémon failed to completely get away.
"Eeee!!!!!"
It let out an enraged cry but struggled to get up.
"Aerial Ace." Egnar wanted to finish it fast, and so did his Pokémon, but the tired Dragonair, somehow, managed to use Aqua Tail and strike Charizard, pushing it away.
The Dragon then let out another sweet cry, spread its wings, and shot up, and its body started shining in a brilliant white light.
A moment later, a terrifying roar of a Dragon shook everyone's heart, and then to Egnar's horror, the newly evolved Dragonite used Draco Meteor.
The orange and purple orbs of Dragon Energy fell from the sky, crashing into Charizard.
Egnar's Pokémon, however, did not go out.
Charizard roared to the sky as it rose and entered a state of Outrage, and Dragonite welcomed his attacks with a powerful Dragon Rush.
When the two Pokémon collided in the air, and Charizard used Fire Blast, everyone felt their hearts jump into their throat.
However, only one Pokémon landed on the ground on its feet.
"Charizard is unable to battle. Dragonite wins the fifth round!"
Egnar recalled his Pokémon and then chuckled a little, shaking his head.
He felt like he was facing Cynthia all over again, and then took a deep breath before sending out his Hisuian Goodra.
Aizen did not recall his Pokémon.
"Round 6: Dragonite vs Hisuian Goodra. Begin!"
The two Dragons stared at each other, and one of them was clearly very tired.
"Dragon Rush!"
"Dragon Pulse!"
Two moves were called out, both were executed, and both hit their targets.
Dragonite bore the Dragon Pulse of Hisuian Goodra and smashed right into it, surrounded by his own Dragon Energy.
Both did not move from their places as their bodies trembled, but then the Steel Dragon swayed on its feet and fell.
"Hisuian Goodra is unable to battle. Dragonite wins the sixth round!"
"Ladies and Gentlemen..."
The deafening cheers from the crowd drowned the voices of the commentators, and Aizen slowly closed his eyes and blocked out all the noises.
He took a deep breath and then walked over to his Alpha Dragonite to share a fist bump with it.
"Well done, Icarus!"
The Dragon proudly roared in response and also let out a soft Thunder Wave, which made Aizen laugh at the ticklish feeling.
"Congratulations, Aizen." Egnar, who had walked over to them, brightly smiled.
"Thank you, Egnar." He shook the boy's hand. "You did not make it easy for me."
"Don't say that, please." The young man laughed and then reverently looked at his Dragonite. "We will battle again, one day." He promised.
"I am looking forward to that day," Aizen nodded to him and then smiled at his Pokémon before recalling it.
The two Trainers then parted ways and returned to their lounges.
Aizen smiled when he saw his friends and family gathering outside the door, but he did not rush to meet them.
"Thank you," he said to Nurse Joy as she accepted the Pokéballs of Arcanine and Blastoise.
Both needed some medical attention, especially Archie.
When Nurse Joy left, the girls rushed into the lounge, and Anira teleported right into his arms, beating them all to reach him first, and merrily laughed.
