"Magmortar is unable to battle. Blastoise wins the fourth round!"
The crowd excitedly cheered after another memorable battle where Blastoise, Electivire, and Gengar defeated all four of Davy's Pokémon.
Aizen had once again won a match without losing a single round, and his opponent was not too disappointed with his loss either.
Davy happily shook hands with him and wished him the best for the Quarter-Finals.
By the time Aizen came out of the Arena, Gary's match was about to start, so he joined the group inside the Grandstand of the First Grass Battlefield.
He signalled to the group to stay seated and received the well-wishes of the people around them before sitting between Anira and May.
Both the girls tightly hugged his arms and congratulated him on his win, but no one seemed as excited as they had been at Leaf's victory.
It was just because when it came to him, it was expected that he would win.
All of them eagerly watched Gary and Jimmy take their positions on their grids and then waited with bated breath as the countdown started.
As soon as the whistle sounded out, both Trainers activated their Pokéballs and called out their serpents, revealing them for the first time in the tournament.
"Round 1: Gyarados vs Steelix. Begin!"
It was not an easy match-up for either of the Pokémon, even though Gary's Gyarados was at a type advantage, and it showed during the battle as the Steel Serpent displayed its Rock-Type moves.
After a clash that lasted for over ten minutes and left the battlefield in ruins, the Steel Serpent finally fell to the powerful Hydro Pump from the Water Serpent.
In the second round, after seeing that Jimmy had called out his Electivire, Gary recalled Gyarados and sent out his Nidoking, revealing another Pokémon in the tournament.
It was an unfair match-up, but Electivire nearly managed to get the better of Nidoking when its Ice Punches landed.
However, it succumbed to the violent Earthquake that the Ground Pokémon generated and then suffered from the Poison Jab, which left it badly poisoned.
After winning the first two rounds, Gary was now at a comfortable advantage, but it did not stay for long.
Jimmy sent out his Dragonite next, putting Gary in a troubled position.
It was then that everyone realised that he did not have an Ice-Type Pokémon on his team.
Gary recalled Nidoking and sent out his Aerodactyl, choosing to rely on its speed advantage, and it worked for him for a while until Dragonite's Outrage fell upon him.
The Dragon was covered in a faint red glow as it decided to annihilate Aerodactyl for being a nuisance.
But Aerodactyl also managed to catch Dragonite with its Ice Fangs.
When the Aerodactyl fell, the Dragonite roared to the sky and waited for Gary to give him another prey.
The boy from Pallet Town put his trust in his Nidoking again, and though it was tired, it still put up a great fight against Dragonite, catching it with its Ice Punch and then using the Head Smash to take it down with him.
Since Gary had to choose his Pokémon first, he sent out his Gyarados again and waited for Jimmy to make his pick.
He was praying in his heart that the boy would not have another Dragon on his team, and thankfully, he did not.
Jimmy called out his own Gyarados, which was slightly bigger and much more experienced.
The two Water Serpents fought ferociously and entered their outraged states before Gary eventually lost the round.
However, the job was done, and he had everything under control.
His Electivire took care of the Water Serpent, and the Oak took a minute to absorb the loud cheers of the crowd.
He was happy, extremely happy, but at the same time, he was worried because his next opponent was going to be Egnar.
When he joined the group to watch the match of the Champion of this year's Silver Conference, he was hoping that Egnar would lose, but he did not.
As soon as they returned to the Center, Gary rushed into his room after submitting his Pokémon and decided to do his research on his next opponent and devise a strategy.
Leaf did the same, but Aizen stayed with the group as they had their dinner and chatted late into the night.
And when everyone returned to their rooms, he pulled Misty into his bed and made love to her until all her strength left her body.
Thankfully, his match was late in the afternoon, because when he and Misty woke up, it was almost half past eight, and the Ceremony at the Indigo Stadium was going to start at 9 am.
Misty panicked a lot, but he smiled at her and pulled her into the bath with him, where he pressed her against the wall and fed her womb his morning load.
The two then took a shower and quickly cleaned up.
Once he was done dressing up, he helped her get ready, and at exactly 9:10 am, he teleported with her inside the Indigo Stadium.
Misty rushed to the stands to join her friends, and Aizen calmly walked into the arena and stood next to Gary, who smiled at him before focusing back on what Charles Goodshow was saying.
"I tell you again. To reach the Quarter-Finals is no small feat. Every single one of you should be proud of what you have achieved. It's an honour for a Trainer when they get to have their Pokémon battles in this beautiful stadium. Ninety percent of the Trainers who have ever battled in this Arena went on to become Pokémon League Winners at least once, or even more than once." The old man brightly smiled.
The President then signalled to the attendants, who were waiting, holding tablets in their hands, and all stepped forward and handed the tablets to the participants.
There, all of them chose the Evolutionary Item which they wanted and also chose the Jeep 720 in the colours and specifications that they desired.
All of them were going to get these rewards regardless of the result today.
Aizen chose the colour scheme of his car and then went through the list of the Evolutionary Items.
The participants had the option to receive the Evolutionary Item right away, but Aizen had no immediate need for any item.
He, however, chose a Prism Scale, just because it was one of the rarest items on the list.
Once they had made their picks, the attendants took away the tablets.
No one knew which items the other participants had chosen, and after the Indigo League anthem, all the participants divided into two groups and left for the Eastern and Western Lounges.
Aizen was with Gary, Alain, and a boy named Virgil, who was Davy's younger brother.
Leaf was in the Eastern Lounge with Egnar, Jon, and Dino.
When the Orayen Prince arrived in his lounge, he smiled at his old friend, who narrowed his eyes at him.
"How are you?"
"Fine. You?"
"Good." He nodded and did not try to talk to Alain any more.
At 10 am, their interviews started, and they all collected the Pokéballs they had submitted at the Center last night.
Nurse Joy personally delivered them to their lounge.
At 11 am, Virgil had the first match against Dino, and the boy looked extremely nervous.
He had performed very well with his team of Eeveelutions so far, and he was hoping to reach the Semi-Finals, at least.
Gary, Aizen, and Alain intently watched the match, as either of them could be his opponent in the future.
And against all expectations, Virgil and his team of Eeveelutions prevailed.
When the boy returned to the lounge, the Orayen Prince praised him and his Pokémon, and the boy was happy to receive praise from him.
"Good luck, Gary."
"Thanks, Aizen." The Oak took a deep breath when the clock hit 1 pm, and then he slowly walked into the tunnel and then out onto the Indigo Arena.
On the other side, he watched Egnar as relaxed as ever, and the two nodded to each other before they picked up their Pokéballs and waited for the Referee's whistle.
When it finally sounded out, they both activated their Pokéballs and called out their Pokémon.
Gary's heart thumped against his chest in hope when he found his Aerodactyl up against a Sceptile.
"Round 1: Aerodactyl vs Sceptile. Begin!"
He battled with everything on the line.
Gary was swearing in his heart as Egnar's Sceptile started to prove to be a headache for his Aerodactyl, but he kept his cool and kept his Pokémon calm as well.
And as luck would have it, the Ancient Pokémon managed to defeat Sceptile before the five-minute mark.
In the second round, Egnar sent his own Aerodactyl, and to fight it, Gary recalled his Aerodactyl and sent out his Blastoise.
The battle between them was exhilarating, and it seemed to be going in the favour of the boy from Pallet Town, but Egnar recalled his Pokémon as soon as the five-minute mark was touched.
The winner of the Silver Conference sent out his own Blastoise next, and Gary furrowed his brows and recalled his Pokémon.
He sent out his Electivire to battle the Blastoise and again failed to find the result in under five minutes, and Egnar recalled his Pokémon and sent out his Snorlax.
To fight it, Gary also revealed his fourth Pokémon, Poliwrath, and against all his expectations, and to his dismay, Poliwrath lost the round.
Egnar had gotten the breakthrough he was searching for, and nothing went in the favour of the boy from Pallet Town from that point onwards.
An hour later, Gary, who had lost his final Pokémon, his Wyrdeer, against Egnar's Charizard, calmly walked onto the battlefield and shook hands with his opponent in the centre.
"Well fought."
"Thank you." The boy smiled and then silently returned to the lounge.
Aizen did not offer any words of consolation and just patted his shoulder, which was enough.
When the battlefield was restored, at 3 p.m., Alain left the lounge and faced Leaf Green in the Indigo Arena.
And their match would forever be remembered by the two of them and their friends.
