The Evernight Demon King slowly looked toward Lord Seeker and inquired, "Why there?"
Lord Seeker's enormous eyes narrowed slightly. "Because there are too many mediocre participants among them."
The three Kings froze, and Lord Seeker continued in an indifferent tone, "And I assume you three were already planning to eliminate the useless ones after this evaluation anyway."
The Evernight Fiend King's mouth twitched.
"That's a rather direct way of putting it."
"Is it wrong?"
"...No."
Lord Seeker snorted. "Then stop pretending to be surprised."
The Evernight Devil King remained silent.
Lord Seeker's voice became slightly more profound as he continued, "Everyone who becomes a member of the Evernight Council has the right to enter the Evernight Ascension Stairway once in their lifetime."
The three Kings exchanged glances.
