[7:37 PM]
The sound of demons scuttling through the woods reverberated as the hashiras prepared themselves for their supposed final battle. The crows on their shoulders immediately departed to HQ to notify their leader to send backup.
The usually expected standoff was not executed as one shadowy figure jumped out reaching his claws out towards his prey.
Sparks went off and the loud noise of metal ringing against a substance equally harder brought the rest of the warriors out of their reverie as they ran forward to aid the fire hashira.
"HOW DARE YOU!" The hashiras spoke out in unison as they faced off against their former comrade Michikatsu Tsugikuni. The moon hashira now turned into a being he vowed to eradicate was impassively staring at the familiar faces with an emotionless face.
His entire face was riddled with eyes leaving no gap in between. The vibrant red hair had lost its luster to now sporting a mix of different colors. Teeth sprouted out from his body jamming the other swords in place.
"DO YOU HAVE NO SHAME! YOU DISCARDED YOU HUMANITY TO BECOME THIS? CAN YOU EVEN CALL YOURSELF A SAMURAI?"
Ignoring their outbursts, he activated his demon art.
A myriad of colors spread out as the humans felt nausea take over them. The cold permeating inside their bodies, the ground sunk their feet as if it were quicksand, small strings aiming for their vitals shot out from the demon's bodies.
However the lethality withered in flames as yoriichi intercepted them with a red blade followed by a bright flash from koko's pristine white katana.
A the light faded away, the entire group had distanced themselves taking an octagonal formation with yoriichi and koko standing atop branches.
A white mist spread out and soon raging wind currents charged towards michikatsu.
Before he could even raise his hand to block, his muscles lost the pent up tension as they were diced to pieces by a blue light from the water hashira's sword.
This was another effect of their training with koko. Instead of representing nature with their swordsmanship, they demonstrated their emotions through colors which could also take an elemental attribute to fit their temperament.
While it is true that there is no actual manifestation of such phenomena, it could actually be used to create an illusion.
The more clear the swordsmanship was, the better the it effected the mind, and hence affect the body!
"TAKE THIS YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"
The wind currents speeding through the fog were set ablaze meeting the fire hashiras sword.
Michikatsu not willing to underestimate them any longer formed an ice wall to intercept it.
𝑼𝑹𝑹𝑹𝑮!
"OH NO YOU DON'T!"
A barely audible sharp noise rang out and the wall cracked soon after revealing the sound hashira.
Michikatsu could not ever respond to the taunt as he was whisked away by a spiked metal ball revealing the blazing arc of a wind current to divide his body into two.
Annoyed by the constant onslaught he finally roared out in rage as the ground turned into sand in a wide radius encompassing everyone. White strings shot out from the ground aiming for the humans who dodged them by a hair's breadth leaving craters.
The demon art however, soon stopped as michikatsu could feel his body collapsing.
'HOW?'
He held on to his severed head desperately as he witnessed the white light clinging onto his body, fading slowly taking his flesh away.
His regeneration was severely slowed down but not enough to kill him.
"Oh you're still alive~" A melodious tone came out from the woman's mouth as she came closer to him bending down to meet his gaze.
!!!
A terrifying chill crept up his spine as he gazed at the woman's blue eyes. The anxiety hidden beneath his savage form came closer and closer to burst out.
Feeling his heart thrumming, he calmed himself while backing away as his body healed.
"I'll take care of him, the rest of you follow the plan."
The hashiras present wanted to speak up.
'How can we let go of such a traitor!'
'At least let us kill him.'
The unspoken words were showing on their faces but they also knew that their mission took higher priority.
"Wai-" Realizing their intensions michikatsu tried to hold them back but he quickly retracted his hands to dodge the incoming blade.
"You're staying here, lowlife."
The melodious voice now replaced with a cold raspy tone made the new demon anxious once more as he looked at his teacher.
'We'll do our part, so you better fulfill yours, yuuji.'
Koko thought so, as she gazed far away, from where loud noises rang out and tremors formed, constantly.
