A line of void-blackness appeared on Yin's arm where the blade's energy grazed him. It was not a deep cut, but it was there. Dark energy, the essence of Uncreation, flickered erratically around the wound before it sealed shut.
Yin looked down at his arm, then back at Nian Shi, his surprise now mingled with a spark of cold anger. "Very good."
Nian Shi didn't answer. He pressed the attack. The Hourglass in his left hand tilted, and the sands within flowed backwards.
The space around Yin suddenly aged millions of years in a microsecond, trying to decay his form, to reduce him to dust through the relentless passage of time he could no longer control.
Yin countered by simply being. A sphere of absolute nothingness expanded from him, canceling the accelerated time. But he had to actively maintain it. Nian Shi's assault was relentless, a storm of temporal techniques more varied and potent than any he had ever displayed.
