"What are you doing, My queen?" Mabon asked after he had picked his jaw up from the floor. He struggled and forced himself to put one foot in front of the other as he stepped closer to where the queen was. The screams coming out of Thress' mouth reminded Mabon of the cries and wails of war and it sent him back in time making him grimace a little.
He looked back at Seth and found that his nephew just stood there and Mabon couldn't understand why.
Seth winced as he doubled over and fell to his knees. There was a searing pain that cut from within him to his chest area. He saw black as the darkness crept up on him from the corners of his eyes. He was on the ground before he knew it.
What had gotten over Ruby? He wondered even in that state of pain he was in. He had been about to take a step to meet with her, to get her out of what she was doing but was stopped by this pain within him. It seemed something was pulling him to the ground and Seth gritted his teeth so as not to yell out.
