Alex felt a strange sense of accomplishment upon completely transcending his 8th and final Origin: the Voidgate. That sense didn't come from within him, but rather from his cultivation base. It was as though it was telling him that he had done all that he needed to do and was ready to move on to the next step.
The next step, of course, was the Immortal Spirit realm. Though, it was more like two steps away.
If entering the Immortal Spirit realm was the second step, the first step was reaching the Immortal Transcendent 9th realm.
And Alex completed it within the next 4 years.
In 4 years, Alex cultivated the equivalent of 65 years. The efficiency of the temporal aura on the formation had dropped a lot since the start, but so long as it helped him cultivate until the Immortal Spirit realm, that would be enough for Alex.
