The Alchemy God raised an eyebrow and let out a slight chuckle.
"Hand it over? Dear God, no. I've tried working with that book many times in the past, but I was never able to gain the inheritance that was inside it. Seeing how quickly you rose and just how talented you are, I guessed that you must have gained that inheritance."
"Inheritance?"
It took Alex until that moment to realize that he and the Alchemy God were talking about two entirely different things.
The Alchemy God had no idea about the Book of Boundless Healing. Instead, he was talking about the Alchemy God's Knowledge, the book through which Alex had gained the first Alchemy God's inheritance.
"Yes," Alex answered swiftly. "I did receive the inheritance."
"All of it?" the Alchemy God asked.
"Not all. I haven't gotten through it all," Alex answered truthfully. "I will when I become a Divinity."
The Alchemy God narrowed his eyes. "Are there any techniques within your inheritance that do not pertain to Alchemy?"
