The new group that came consisted of over 20 people. Alex had a lot of confidence in his own skills, and that required him to understand where he was limited with them. He was already pushing himself by slowing time for those who were there and causing them inconvenience. To do it for 20 more people would likely make the slowed time not be as effective.
So, he let go of the Dao, letting time return to normal.
No one even noticed that Alex had done any of that. They didn't even notice the Time aura to begin with.
"Is something special happening here? Why are all of you gathered?" the apparent leader of the new group said.
