Steelmind's heart raced at the thought of owning even just half of the metal. He hadn't even learned much about the metal, but he knew enough right now that this was a deal he couldn't miss.
And yet, at the same time, a part of him was appalled at the thought of taking the metal from her.
"I would like nothing more than to accept your offer, but have you given any thought to the fact that we very well might fail in our endeavor?" he asked. "If we fail to create this weapon of yours, you will still need this metal to control your physique's outburst."
His words caused the Alchemy God's expression to become grim. However, only a gentle smile formed on the Death God's face.
"I understand," she said. "But even if we had twice the amount of metal, it would not be a permanent solution for me. And if it isn't a permanent solution, I don't want it."
She spoke with absolute resolution, causing Steelmind to raise his eyebrows. "So if the weapon doesn't work…"
