The space inside the Void wasn't the same as the space outside. Even if one remained stationary, the Void itself would've moved around them so much that they would be in a completely different location, moving leagues away from where they were before.
And it wasn't straightforward either. Space twisted and turned, extended and shrunk. Time did the same, moving in a manner that defied common understanding of its flow.
And the last thing that persisted throughout it was gravity.
It wasn't gravity that existed, but rather its aura. It did not pull one in a certain direction like it did to the aura of space and time.
Alex moved with his fingers on the pulse of this world, his mind analyzing each change. As he moved away from Hell, he felt the gravitational aura from all directions.
It came from just one, and not as strong as Hell. But then, he was further away from this world, so he had to move closer.
