Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Wendy's Rise! Battle between Dragons Begins!

Hey guys Novaflame6_Badal here again. Thought I'd throw something out there before we begin the chapter. So this creature is a cameo from Lord of the Rings, but I'm just putting a little fairy tail spin on it. It appeared during a certain scene in fellowship of the ring... any one cultured enough should know what this creature is that I'm talking about, lol. And I made a mistake about the Naval battle in the games, I think that was day 3. Lol anyways pardon that mistake.

Anyways, just as there are Dragon Slayers, God Slayers, and Devil Slayers in the Fairy Tail universe, a new type of slayer will be introduced! Yup that's right, this type of slayer will be a unique one. Also if you're wondering what type of slayer Max is... he's a God Slayer, just with a little of a unique twist to him. Same is true for Kazuma. Koga, Yukikaze, Honoo, and Shoryu are all unique Slayers too. they'll be a type the Fairy Tail universe hasn't seen yet, this will come in handy later in the story. And one more thing...

If you've guessed who Laxus will end up with since I already said it isn't Mira Jane, this chapter may or may not clue you in on who it is. I already have someone in mind for Mira, just need to figure out what their interactions will be like. But enough rambling from me, Lol. Novaflame6 does not own Fairy Tail or Saint Seiya and the characters from the aforementioned series, those belong to their respective creators. I only own the oc's of this story.

Chapter 4: Wendy's Rise! Battle Between Dragons Begins!

Dragon's Dawn: The Sky Maiden's Heart

The arena buzzed with anticipation as the final match of day three was about to begin. Wendy Marvell stood at the balcony overlooking the battlefield, her thoughts drifting to yesterday's events. The blue-haired Dragon Slayer couldn't help but smile as she remembered her match with Chelia Blendy from Lamia Scale—a battle that had ended in a draw but had won her a new friend.

More than that, it had been the day when Koga Dragonblade from Dragon's Dawn had first cheered for her. The crimson-haired teen had believed in her when she'd doubted herself, his encouragement giving her strength she didn't know she possessed.

"Thinking about him again?" Carla's voice interrupted her thoughts.

Wendy's cheeks flushed pink. "I-I don't know what you mean."

"You know exactly what I mean," the white Exceed replied with a knowing smile. "That boy from Dragon's Dawn has captured your attention completely."

Before Wendy could protest, she felt someone approach. Her heart raced when she recognized the familiar scent—a mixture of cinnamon and mountain air that she'd come to associate with only one person.

"Hey, Wendy," Koga said, leaning against the railing beside her. "Ready to watch Natsu and Gajeel teach those Sabertooth jerks a lesson?"

"K-Koga-san!" she stammered, her blush deepening. "I didn't expect to see you here."

His crimson hair caught the sunlight as he turned to her with a grin. "Wouldn't miss this fight for anything. After what they did to your friend Lucy..." His expression darkened momentarily before brightening again. "But I'm sure your guildmates will set things right."

Below them, the crowd roared as Natsu and Gajeel emerged from one tunnel while Sting and Rogue appeared from the opposite side. The tension between Fairy Tail and Sabertooth was palpable, even from this distance.

"Fairy Tail has something Sabertooth will never understand," Koga said quietly.

"What's that?" Wendy asked, genuinely curious.

"The strength that comes from bonds," he replied, his gold eyes meeting her brown ones. "My father always told me that the strongest magic comes from protecting those you care about."

Wendy nodded, understanding washing over her. "That's what Fairy Tail has always believed too."

"Maybe that's why our guilds seem to get along so well," Koga mused. "Dragon's Dawn and Fairy Tail... we're not so different."

As they watched the Dragon Slayers below prepare for battle, Wendy felt a strange warmth blooming in her chest—the same feeling she'd experienced during her match with Chelia when Koga had cheered for her. It was unfamiliar yet not unwelcome, like sunshine after rain.

"Wendy?" Koga's voice pulled her from her thoughts.

"Yes?"

"After the games are over, would you like to..." he hesitated, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. "Would you like to go on a mission together? Just the two of us?"

The sky maiden's eyes widened in surprise, her heart beating wildly in her chest. "A mission? Together?"

Koga nodded, suddenly looking nervous. "I thought it might be fun. You know, Sky Dragon and Phoenix Dragon Slayers working together. Plus, I'd like to get to know you better."

A smile spread across Wendy's face as she found her courage. "I'd like that very much, Koga-san."

Their moment was interrupted by an explosion from the arena as the match began in earnest. Natsu's fiery attacks lit up the battlefield as Gajeel's iron roar shook the stands. The twin dragons of Sabertooth seemed taken aback by the ferocity of Fairy Tail's Dragon Slayers.

In the stands, high above the action, Guild Master Reynar of Dragon's Dawn watched with interest as he conversed with Makarov.

"Your children fight with passion, Master Makarov," Reynar observed, his blue hair catching the light. "They carry the pride of Fairy Tail with them."

Makarov nodded, his eyes never leaving the battle. "As do yours, Master Reynar. Your guild has made quite an impression in these games."

"I hope it's been a positive one," Reynar replied with a smile. "I meant what I said earlier—I wish for our guilds to form a brotherhood. An extended family, if you will."

Derek Dragonblade, standing nearby, crossed his arms as he watched the battle unfold. "Sabertooth has forgotten what it means to be a guild. They treat their members like tools rather than family."

"Indeed," Makarov agreed solemnly. "But perhaps this defeat will teach them something valuable."

As the battle below intensified, with Natsu and Gajeel gaining the upper hand against Sting and Rogue, Wendy found herself standing closer to Koga. Their hands occasionally brushed against each other on the railing, sending tingles up her arm each time.

"They're amazing," Wendy whispered as Natsu unleashed a particularly powerful Fire Dragon's Roar.

"So are you," Koga replied, his eyes fixed not on the battle but on her. "Your fight yesterday was incredible. I've never seen anyone use Sky Dragon Slayer magic like that before."

Wendy felt her face heat up again. "It was nothing special..."

"It was to me," Koga said earnestly. "You know, my father told me something once. He said when a Dragon Slayer finds someone they truly connect with, their magic grows stronger in their presence. I didn't believe him until..." he trailed off, looking embarrassed.

"Until what?" Wendy prompted, her heart hammering in her chest.

"Until I saw you fight," he admitted. "And I felt my own magic responding to yours."

The implications of his words weren't lost on Wendy. She'd read about Dragon Slayers and their connections in some of the books at the guild—how they often formed powerful bonds with those who complemented their magic and spirit.

Could it be that she and Koga shared such a connection?

The thought made her both nervous and excited, a fluttering sensation taking root in her stomach like tiny wings beating against her insides.

Below them, the match reached its climax as Natsu and Gajeel combined their attacks against the Sabertooth Dragon Slayers, the resulting explosion sending shockwaves throughout the arena. When the dust cleared, it was evident that Fairy Tail had emerged victorious.

The crowd erupted in cheers, none louder than those from Fairy Tail's section. Wendy found herself caught up in the excitement, jumping up and down and clapping her hands. Without thinking, she turned and threw her arms around Koga, hugging him tightly.

"They did it!" she exclaimed, before realizing what she'd done. She quickly pulled away, mortified by her impulsive action. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—"

But Koga was smiling, his gold eyes warm with affection. "Don't apologize. I liked it."

As the celebrations continued around them, Wendy realized something important. The strange feeling she'd been experiencing whenever Koga was around, the warmth that spread through her chest when he smiled at her, the courage that filled her when he believed in her—it all pointed to one undeniable truth.

She was falling for Koga Dragonblade.

And from the way he looked at her, his gaze soft and full of admiration, she dared to hope that perhaps he felt the same way.

In the stands, Makarov and Reynar watched as their guilds celebrated together. Fairy Tail members mingled with Dragon's Dawn wizards, sharing in the joy of Sabertooth's defeat.

"It seems our families are already forming bonds," Reynar observed with satisfaction.

Makarov chuckled, his eyes finding Wendy and Koga among the crowd. "Indeed they are, old friend. Indeed they are."

As the day drew to a close, Wendy felt a sense of anticipation for what the future might hold—not just for the Grand Magic Games, but for her and Koga, and for the emerging friendship between Fairy Tail and Dragon's Dawn.

Whatever challenges lay ahead, she knew one thing for certain: with Koga by her side, believing in her, she could face anything. And perhaps, in time, she would come to understand fully the mysterious feeling that bloomed in her heart whenever he was near.

For now, though, she was content to stand beside him, watching as the sun set over Crocus, painting the sky in shades of crimson and gold that reminded her of Koga's hair and eyes—a perfect harmony of colors, just like the harmony she felt between them.

The sky maiden and the phoenix slayer—two dragons whose paths had crossed and whose destinies were now irrevocably intertwined.

Next Time: Chapter 5- Natsu and Gajeel vs Sting and Rogue.

And done! whew! So little bit of a flashback chapter with Wendy, but this will help develop her and Koga's relationship and attraction to each other. As you've no doubt noticed, I've made Wendy older than in the cannon story. I always thought it was a little awkward having a 12 year old in a tournament of 15 to twenty maybe even thirty something year olds. So to balance out making her older I've also beefed up her power a bit. I mean she would get stronger if she aged normally, right? So I thought why not? Anyways, I seriously debated on whether or not to make Makarov Max, Mist, and Koga's grandpa. But since he's Derek's old guild master I figured he'd want to properly thank Makarov for his time spent in fairy tail, so what better way than to make him their grandpa?

Anyways I hope I did okay with the Wendy vs Sherria fight. I know I alternated between calling her Sherria and Chelia, both English and Japanese dubs used both names so yeah.. Pm or leave a review of who Mist will/should be with. Here are your options: Sting, Rogue, Gray, Olga, Romeo, Freed, Bickslow. Let me know plz, I want to have some feedback before I decide for myself. anywho that said peace out!

Wendy- Next time on Fairies and Dragons: Allies of the West... What? Natsu' s down?

Koga- Nah, don't worry Wendy he's just getting started. Ah well, look at that looks like he's winning now. Hold what is that?

Wendy- that's Natsu sans secret art? But.. where's Gajeel I wonder?

Koga- Next time: Chapter 5- Natsu and Gajeel vs Sting and Rogue! You can do it guys, Sabertooth's butt!

Wendy- Koga San isn't that kinda.. vulgar?

Koga- I suppose it could be. It's better than the other alternative that- You know what .. let's just drop this yeah?

Wendy- Y-yeah. I don't think NovaFlame6 likes swearing when he writes anyways.

Koga- see you guys in the next update!
