Chapter 26 - Kathrine Amelix

"Are you going to sign the contract or what?" Kathrine asked as Kyle smiled sadly. "I cannot bring myself to sign such contract Kathrine. I maybe mad at Faridah right now but I cannot afford to lose her too." He said as he looked at his ring.

"Faridah Hamilton is a scary person when it comes to business but if you sign this contract you will be off and safe from her grasp. It's still your choice though but do you really want to spend your entire life with the person that killed your father?" Kathrine asked as Kyle was out of words.

"How about you, You liked Shoji right yet he was one of the accomplice on that massacre. Why do you still like him?" Kyle asked as Kathrine smirked.

"It's because he's a promising man. I'm waiting to turn eighteen soon to meet with his expectations." She said.

"Polo was Shoji's gift when I was sixteen. Shoji's the only person who cares about my existence since I am someone who matters to Faridah." She added.

"But the difference between us is that Faridah seems to reciprocate your feelings while Shoji likes someone else." Kathrine knew about it after hearing it from Keteki.

"Do you mean, She likes Faridah?"

"No, Faridah is a boss to him. He never thought of Faridah that way. What he likes is Faridah's spoiled cousin Amelia Hamilton, She's the sister of Solis and Gab Hamilton." She said as Kyle nodded.

"I never get to meet that person though, What type of girl is she that Shoji ended up liking her?" He asked.

"A carefree person." She answered. "She don't think too much about anything at all. Shoji always get into trouble because of her but he ended up liking her anyway." She added.

"Then why are you still waiting on turning eighteen?" He asked as Kathrine pout as she point on her flat chest.

"To have this." She said. "They say it will grow eventually once I turn into my legal age." She added that made Kyle laugh.

"Don't laugh at me Kyle!" She hissed yet Kyle didn't budge.

"Come on now not all guys are into boobs." He said. "Amelia have big boobs." She said as she showed Kyle her picture.

"Ohhh I think I already saw her when she barge in Faridah's office." Kyle said as he remembers Amelia.

"She's pretty right?" She asked as Kyle smiled. "Yes but you are pretty on your own way too." He said.

"You do realize that I'm your future wife threat in business right?" She asked as Kyle smiled.

"I know you won't go that far. Your the one who told me that what's the point of getting mad on her when she's the one that save us and made us like this." He said as Kathrine smiled.

"That doesn't make me a good person at all." Katherine said.

"I guess everyone is not a good person. We all have attitude and bad behaviors but as a human being we are all capable to change and learn from our mistake." He said.

"But your the one who left Faridah in Canada and went with a strange teenager." She said smirking.

"I just need time to breathe, I think Faridah is well aware about that." He said.

"I can see that both of you trust each other since Faridah didn't make a move on getting you back to Canada. I bet Shoji already told her by now." She explained as Kyle smiled sadly.

'As long as I wear this ring, I know that Faridah will be patiently waiting for my return.'

"How confident are you?" Kathrine asked as she get her papers since Kyle didn't want to sign it.

"Pardon?" Kyle asked.

"How confident are you that Faridah will wait for you?" She asked again as Kyle smiled.

"I just know that she will." He answered.

The next day Shoji arrived at the Amelix mansion with a lot of paperwork in his hand.

"What she wants is your attention Shoji."

'Fvck it, I swear Faridah I'm going to kick your ass for messing with my head. Why would Kathrine be interested with me.' Shoji thought as Kathrine's butler open the door for him.

"Where's your captive? You didn't lay your hands on someone like him right? Zen David Reyes." He asked as he smiled.

"You don't need to exaggerate my name Shoji. The captive is in a good state, They just play around with my lady." He said as Shoji looked at him.

"Show me where Kathrine is..." He said as Zen opened the door as Kathrine was sitting at her study like she was expecting Shoji's appearance.

"I've been waiting for you for a bit while now." She said as Shoji gave her the papers.

"This is the bridge that Faridah is willing to destroy if you keep messing with her boundaries." He said as she smiled.

"You don't need to gave me these papers, I'm not planning to go that far. Kyle didn't sign the help that I offered." Kathrine explained.

"Where is Kyle now?" Shoji asked as Kathrine shrugged.

"I don't know, he told me that he want a free time for himself after playing with me for a week. I asked about it where is he going yet he just smiled and told me not to ask about it." Kathrine said as Shoji glared at Zen.

"You told me he was here." Shoji said as he had contact with Zen. "I did but the moment you arrived is just the perfect timing for Kyle to get into a plane." Zen look at his watch.

"Right now." He added as Shoji glared at him looking pissed.

"Why didn't you track him?" Shoji asked as Kathrine smiled. "Because we know that you will track him down by yourself even if we don't have that enough information on where he is going to." Kathrine said as Shoji sighed.

The biting cold of the Russian countryside greeted Kyle Anthony Greyson as he stepped out of the car.

The small, snow-dusted village was eerily silent, the kind of peace he craved amidst the chaos swirling in his head. His grandparents' modest wooden home stood at the edge of the village, the warm light from the windows piercing through the frigid dusk.

Kyle tightened his coat around him, his breath fogging in the freezing air. He barely had the strength to knock, but before his fist touched the door, it swung open. His grandmother stood there, her face lighting up in surprise.

"Кайл," she said softly, her voice trembling as she immediately pulled him into a tight embrace.

His grandfather appeared behind her, his usual stern expression melting into one of concern. Yet, neither of them asked questions. They simply ushered him inside, the warmth of the home enveloping him.

Kyle sank into the worn-out armchair by the fireplace, the crackling flames offering a small comfort.

His grandparents busied themselves preparing tea, their silent understanding giving Kyle the space he needed.

As he stared into the fire, his thoughts raced. Faridah. The woman he once thought he could trust. Knowing her hand in his father's death had shattered him in ways he couldn't begin to describe. And now, here he was, thousands of miles away, trying to piece himself back together in the quiet of his grandparents' home.

Faridah leaned against the balcony railing of her penthouse, the city lights of Toronto glittering below her. A cigarette hung loosely between her fingers, its tip glowing faintly in the dark.

She exhaled a cloud of smoke, her red lips curling into a smirk as she read Shoji's message.

Shoji:

Kyle is in Russia. Looks like he's hiding out at his grandparents' place.

She tapped the ash off her cigarette, her eyes narrowing as she read the message again. Her smirk widened, a glint of something dangerous sparking in her eyes.

"Poor Kyle," she murmured, her voice dripping with mock sympathy. "Running away like a scared little boy. How predictable."

Keteki, standing nervously by the door, watched her with wide eyes. He had seen this side of Faridah before the cold, calculating woman who reveled in control. And now, with Kyle out of reach, it seemed that side of her had returned in full force.

"Ma'am," Keteki began hesitantly, his voice trembling slightly, "maybe… maybe we should leave him be for now. He needs time to—"

Faridah turned sharply, her eyes locking onto him with an intensity that made his words falter.

"Time?" she hissed, taking a slow drag of her cigarette before exhaling deliberately. "Time to what? Forget everything and move on? Oh, Kyle doesn't get to do that, Keteki. After all he went with Kathrine while I was at the hospital dying in hunger."

Keteki gulped, his palms clammy as he stood rooted to the spot. Faridah's smirk returned as she turned back to the city, flicking the cigarette over the balcony edge.

"Don't worry," she said coolly. "I'll give him his time. For now, As long as that boy is wearing the blue diamond he is safe in all the threats."

But as the night stretched on, Faridah's mind worked. She would let Kyle have his moment of peace. But eventually, she would remind him that there was no escape from her or the truth.
