The Celebration
Everyone was lively and full of chatter. The celebration for the restoration of the Queen's wing was today. Castle Fenway was even more abuzz than it had been when Sissy had first arrived. Her room was facing the front of the Palace. She sat on the bay window in her room and watched as florists, bakers, and fabric makers flowed in and out.
Sissy loved watching. It was as if she were a bird and was looking down from above. She felt giddy with excitement. Tonight, she would get to be a part of something big. She would be treated like a princess.
She was already overjoyed with all the clothing and fine jewelry lauded upon her. Sissy had always considered herself pretty. She knew that to be true by how the male patrons had approached her asking her if she did more than the laundry. She had gotten a proposal from an old drunk farmer, but the barmaid took care of him for her. Now, looking at herself in the blush pink gown. She looked like she had been born royal.
