Si Mingjing nodded.
She called for a taxi at the door and after getting in, she waved goodbye to Qin Yinan, who had walked her to the entrance.
Standing outside the car, Qin Yinan said, "Send me a message when you get home to let me know you're safe."
Qin Yinan specifically gave Si Mingjing her mobile number. Si Mingjing noted it down and nodded.
But after Qin Yinan had dinner, taken a bath, and even applied a face mask, she still hadn't received a text from Si Mingjing.
After taking his bath, Su Yanming sat in bed reading a book. He noticed his wife checking her phone every now and then. "What are you looking at?"
"I specifically told that child, Mingjing, to send me a message when she got home to let me know she's safe. But it's been three hours, and I still haven't received anything from her."
"Young people can be forgetful. Why don't you call Mingjing and ask if she made it home?"
