"Another group has been annihilated."
The words brought varied reactions to those who heard it. Some mourned, some were confused, but most of them were worry.
Guild Master Zeke had a worried look on his face as he continued,
"They were the fifth elite group we sent. At this rate, no one would be willing to take the risk."
That sparked another round of discussions among those present.
"What about bringing the guild captains together? A single one of us is as strong as five elite guild members." Guild Captain Eric suggested.
"Eric might have a point. A high risk move but we have a better chance of winning." Guild Captain Richard added.
"Maybe we don't even have to fight the boss, we could just injure it for now and finish it off later when we have more people." Guild Captain Lisa chimed in.
Guild Master Zeke listened and simulated multiple scenarios in advance. After weighing the pros and cons of each situation, he reached a conclusion.
"We have four options. First, I go fight the boss alone. Second, The Guild Captains will go. Third, we will ring the Warrior's Bell and mobilize everyone available for an all out attack. Or fourth, We will send another group of elites."
Guild Master Zeke fiddled with the ring on his right hand as he continued,
"If we choose the first one, all Guild Captains will man their respective posts and be on high alert. Choose the second, I will mobilize the city defenses and lock the city down. Third? That's just sending them to the meat grinder, it's not efficient. Most of the combatants aren't trained to fight a high tiered boss. The fourth one, we just have to raise the bounty and pay up a portion of it in advance. Maybe we could lure in some desperate but strong people."
The Guild Captains deliberated for a few moments before Guild Captain Lisa called out, "Let us convene the senate and maybe get the opinion of some of the higher level Guild Members."
"I agree." Both Guild Master Richard and Eric said at the same time.
"Then we shall." Guild Master Zeke announced as he stopped fiddling with his ring.
