After that little battle not many people have come by. I have been scouting and noticed a decently sized group of people are gathering at the edge of the forest. I'm pretty sure they are here to kill me but I can't tell. Anyways Recently I've been feeling my power steadily grow to the point granting wishes is almost within my grasp. Not that I have hands to grasp it with. I'm pretty sure Kurts grandson who from eavesdropping I've learned is named James, has been spreading my influence throughout his village. This may be why I feel like I'm getting stronger. In my world there are over 100 Gods so I'm not that special, but with these gods comes a ranking system. Currently I'm not very high up but I will soon gain more power and grow into my next god rank; 'Greater Deity'. In which I will finally be able to grant wishes again.
Luckily most people that wished for things from me were very selfish so I didn't need to answer to them, but sometimes about every 1/5 visits I'd get a selfless wish that I wish I could grant so I pretend I do. So far even though I can't actually grant wishes luck has been on my side and made the wishes I pretend to grant work out in the end.
Anyways I've asked one of my followers and they said that the long eared human was an elf. A creature that doesn't usually live around here.
I've also heard that the people sent to kill me were sent by the village of Arcanz, which follow a new greater deity that was created around 100 years ago and quickly grew as the God of Good. If this is true then that deity might try to eliminate me from the competition in becoming the only local god so growing influence is necessary right now. Currently I have around 88 followers so with just a bit more I can grant wishes, and in fact hear wishes made from my most devoted followers wherever they are. Obviously with becoming a Greater Deity I will also gain more physical and magical power but that's less important. Over the span of about a week I've scouted the entire area and now know where Arcana The God of Good's temple is aswell as any other god within a 50km radius. After checking my surroundings James paid me a visit.
"Hello lord I've come with great news!"
"WELL? WHAT IS IT?"
I wonder if he's talking about the new following I've gained.
"I have spread word of your power, and estimate we will have over 100 followers within 3 days!"
("JUST 3 DAYS?")
That is a very short time period.
"THAT IS GREAT NEWS, ANYTHING ELSE JAMES?"
...
...
...
"Yes I have also learned that The worshippers of Arcana have been growing as a faith an they have over 150 followers!"
James says with a hint of sadness.
"INDEED A LARGE AMOUNT, BUT I WILL CERTAINLY BECOME THE STRONGEST LOCAL GOD!"
I exclaim trying to convince myself I can still win this battle. As if on queue James reply's with;
"You are right my lord I should never doubt your strength. Anyways I will be taking my leave now."
And so like he said he leaves the temple. I do believe before they attack we will certainly gain a mass of followers to rival theirs. With the knowledge that 3 days is all I require before I can become a Greater Deity is Exciting for me, I can't wait. About 3 days later just as James predicted I have grown in size physically as well as in following, we have now exceeded 100 followers.
So I will now begin my transformation into a Greater Deity.
