Chapter 3 - Training

One month later, "Hyah! Hyah!"

Tomoe swings the wooden sword up and down. "Alright that's enough for today students!" "Yes master, thank you for your hard work!" the students all say.

"Hyah! Hyah!" Tomoe still practicing the sword. "Well isn't this student a hard worker," the sword master said. "Yes, this child was specifically brought in by the young Lord," whispered the attendant.  "I see," says the sword master. The sword master walks over to Tomoe, "Young child, there is no need for extra practice so go and have fun with your friends." Tomoe looked up at the sword master and said, "I have no time to play such childish games; I need to get stronger!"

The sword master looked at Tomoe in amusement and said, "Alright then. You can practice some more, but I would like you to meet me in my training dojo after all your classes," the attendant hands Tomoe a piece of paper with the address. "Meet me when the sun dies and the moon rises" the sword master says as he waits for an answer. Tomoe looks at the sword master and shakes his head yes as he continues to practice.

As the day went by it soon became dark and Tomoe went to meet with the sword master. Tomoe opens the sliding doors in front. "Is anyone here?" The sword master rushed up to Tomoe hitting Tomoe straight in the gut with his fist. Tomoe grabs his fists. "Got some pretty good reflexes faster than any kid I've met." Tomoe, clearly irritated, says, "If this is going to waste my time I've got better things to do." Tomoe now storming out, "Ah! Wait, I'm sorry I was just testing you!" Tomoe started to walk out when, "If you truly want to get stronger then I could help you. The way you learn and take things in the training I am giving to the others are nothing at what you are capable of. If you stay and commit to my teachings I can assure you will be the best swordsman in this household." Tomoe, now interested in the sword master's proposal, "So what's in it for you?" The sword master laughs, "I just want you to be my disciple. I have yet to take an official disciple under my name." Tomoe thinks then replies, "Alright, same time everyday then, I will be off for tonight. Goodnight." The sword master says his goodnight back to Tomoe, "Oh, I forgot. Call me Master Yoshitsune from now on!"

The next morning, Tomoe had gone to his morning etiquette classes, then knowledge classes, to fire magic training with the young lord in the afternoon, then swordsmanship, then late night classes with the sword master.

After Tomoe was finished with his morning classes, he had gone to train with the young lord. "Tomoe, have you finished practicing what I showed you yesterday?" Tomoe replied "yes" as he continued to practice the previous teachings of what the young lord had taught him. "Alright, now follow what I do and really focus. Do not pressure your powers but let it freely flow throughout your body."

Tomoe quickly follows what the young lord had just done. Approximately 30 minutes passed, "Wow, you certainly are a talented natural, getting this on your first try is rare even for me! Alright, now go rest. We will train some more tomorrow." Tomoe heads to train at the sword masters dojo before turning in for the night.

Tomoe enters Master Yoshitsune's dojo, "welcome, come in and let's start right away!" Master Yoshitsune says enthusiastically.

"Let's start with your daily training or whatever you have been taught so far. I wanna see what you've learned."

Tomoe readies his wooden sword in front of the master. Slowly circling him in order to spot an opening. Then finally he found one, and stuck down with as much speed and precision.

~Block~

Tomoe looks at where the hit was supposed to connect but instead he saw a pipe there. "Chuckling"

"Nice try! I see you found my opening I gave you. Hmm…. Good reflexes and instincts. I think I like you more, everything we meet." Tomoe looks at the Master in disgust and draws his wooden sword back on his belt. "Well for starters let's work on your footing and strength placement."

After approximately 2 hours passed by, "Well I will stop training here for today, rest up and we'll pick back up tomorrow."

As he trained, Tomoe became more skilled and strong as the years passed. He had studied hard in every course that was given to him, even extra classes; Tomoe was a prodigy of fire magic, hand to hand combat, weapon fighting, strategy, and deception. He had worked hard in his life to be stronger, now he was ready for anything that came after him.
