Chapter 678 - Possibility

There was nothing but complete silence in Ollie's library. Everyone had their nose buried deep in a book.

Some were enjoying their books, while others were not. Maddie was already bored, after an hour or so she was done reading her book, she was a fast reader, she looked up only to see that the others were still reading.

She huffed, it was then that she realized just how boring Ollie truly was. For one, who in the entire world when asked of something fun to be done replies with stay the entire day in a library?

She had only been here an hour and some minutes and she was already extremely bored, she did not want to spend the entire day locked up in here.

Maddie groaned out loud on purpose so everyone would turn their attention to her. Annie who had already anticipated this simply ignored her and Matt did the same. Ollie was just so focused that he did not even hear Maddie's groan.

Maddie frowned and groaned again, this time louder and much more dramatic.

"Maddie, we're not going to condone your nonsense, don't you dare tell me you're done reading." Annie said, she did not bother looking in Maddie's direction, she continued reading her book.

"But I am done reading." Maddie groaned while Matt shook his head, somehow, he knew that she would be the first to finish reading, in her mind reading fast meant that she was done, he didn't have anything against fast readers, it was just that if she was done reading, she would claim she was bored and not want to continue to stay here.

"Of course you are." Annie scoffed while still reading.

"Yes, why do you make it sound like that? I am actually done reading, unlike you guys, I read fast." Maddie said.

Annie simply chuckled and shook her head, she had already made up her mind to not deal with Maddie's nonsense today.

"Hey, what do you have against we fast readers? It's not my fault you guys take so long to process words." Maddie said.

"I have nothing against fast readers, it's just you, because I'm sure you just skimmed through everything." Annie replied.

"I agree, I'm sure if I ask you what happened in chapter five, you won't be able to tell me." Matt said.

"That's not true, in chapter five it talked about the regenerative process of werewolves if you want me go into more detail about the quickening of their cells being revived continuously by prolonged tissue production. Their regeneration ability it twenty times faster than humans, ten times faster than witches and five times faster than vampires." Maddie said proudly.

"Hmm, I don't know if I believe you, maybe you're just making up all that information." Annie said.

"I think so too." Matt said looking up at Maddie.

"No, she's not making up that information, those are actually real facts." Ollie spoke up.

"See, I am disappointed that the blondie had to defend me." Maddie shook her head.

"Wait, so werewolves regenerate faster than vampires?" Matt asked surprised.

"Mhmm, they do, it is quite fascinating, we witches are basically as weak as humans, only that we have magic that can accelerate our healing, and well vampires, firstly, it takes a lot to actually hurt them and they do have regeneration to a certain extent, but not as quick as werewolves." Ollie explained.

"So werewolves are stronger by default then?" Annie asked.

"No, not really, it all depends on which form they are in. Generally, they are still considered humans withe heightened abilities, they can still get infections and cuts, it all depends on the severity of the wound they have." Ollie said.

"Vampires can't get infections, they don't get sick, but they can still be poisoned." Ollie explained.

"And thank you for the information dump we didn't ask for blondie." Maddie said.

"That isn't true, Matt asked." Ollie said. "Anyway, how were you able to finish reading that book in an hour? It has like thirty something chapters." Ollie frowned.

"It's a gift I have." Maddie smiled.

"But now I'm bored, you're really so boring blondie, why should we have to spend the entire day in the library?" Maddie groaned and Annie frowned.

"Don't start Maddie, we're spending the entire day here whether you like it or not." Annie put her foot down.

"It's fine if you feel bored." Ollie said.

"Do not indulge her Ollie, she'll misbehave even more." Annie turned to Ollie.

"Wow, why are you referring to me like I'm some sort of dog?" Maddie scowled.

"I never said so, you did." Annie replied.

"Girls, there's no need to start an argument, it's perfectly fine if you're bored Maddie, do you wish to go outside?" Ollie turned to Maddie and asked.

"Yes, that's all I want." Maddie replied.

"It's fine, you can go outside, but you'll still be inside." Ollie said confused Maddie, Matt and Annie.

"What?" Maddie asked confused.

"Mhmm, yes, I know what I said, you can go outside while still being in the library." Ollie smiled.

"At the centre of the library is a huge skylight under that skylight is a little garden." Ollie explained as he stood up. He waved his hands as the shelves and books moved away and the skylight moved instead.

"Why would you have this in a library?" Maddie as she got up and threw the book on the couch.

"Hey, I get bored in the library sometimes too, so when I need some fresh air and I need a break, I go here." Ollie smiled.

Maddie was in disbelief, it was a literal lush garden inside and the sunlight from the skylight made it look so natural.

"Wow, being royalty really has its perks." Maddie said as she removed her shoes and walked into the garden, she felt the warm, mushy grass between her toes. She fell on the grass and looked up.

"I will admit that." Ollie chuckled, if Maddie wanted to be outside, he wouldn't stop her, but so she wouldn't miss out on their time together, it was better she remained here.

"Hmm, you're making me rethink this whole royalty thing, do you have a brother somewhere I can marry?" Maddie asked as Annie and Matt shouted at her.

"Are you being serious right now?" Annie looked at her in shock.

"I am honestly worried about you if you're really serious about that." Matt said equally as surprised.

"Hey, I mean if it's a possibility." Maddie shrugged as Annie face-palmed herself.

Ollie just chuckled, the way Maddie thought sometimes genuinely scared him, worried him and yet made him laugh at the same time.

"Hey, I'm an only child, but who knows my parents might change their minds and give me a baby brother." Ollie laughed, he decided to play along, by now he knew that Maddie felt threatened when you did not agree with her views and ideas in a gentle way.

"But you'll have to wait for him to grow up though." Ollie added.

"Umm, no on second thought, no I don't want to be an old woman by the time he's grown up. I would never marry someone younger than me." Maddie said, she sounded a little bit disgusted.

"Are you sure? You might be in luck, if he's born anytime now, you'll just be seventeen years older than him." Ollie said, Annie and Matt chuckled.

"Don't test me blondie, that's disgusting waiting for him to grow up just so I could marry him." Maddie sat up straight and frowned at him.

"Alright fine, I thought you were just serious about marrying into my family." Ollie laughed.

"Hey, I still am, don't you have a cousin your age or something?" Maddie asked.

"Nope, no cousins, no uncles, no distant relatives, it's just me." Ollie replied.

"Welp, my dreams of marrying into royalty have ended." Maddie sighed in defeat, that was until her eyes landed on Matt who instantly shook his head, he knew what she was thinking about before she even said it.

"Don't even think about it Maddie, there's no way I'm marrying you just to fulfil your wishes to be royalty." Matt frowned deeply.

"The fact you would even think about it is sick." Annie shook her head and scowled.

"Hey, don't blame me, he's royalty isn't he? You can just marry me and settle all my problems." She laughed.

"I can't tell if you're joking or being serious at this point Maddie." Ollie turned to her.

"Obviously I'm joking, gosh, what do you guys think of me?" Maddie laughed.

"Matt doesn't really have any title, besides he's here with us, I would never marry him, sorry he's not my type." Maddie said.

"And I'm glad I'm not your type Maddie, honestly." Matt said seriously as she laughed.

"Gosh, when will we be able to have a normal conversation with none of you getting upset by what I say?" Maddie asked.

"Well depends on when we will actually have normal conversations." Annie replied.

"You do forget that we are witches and we are friends with a half-witch, half-vampire, you fought my so called father because he's tried his entire lifetime to end your family lineage and we live in the witch realm, there's no way we can ever have normal conversations." Maddie deadpanned.
