We'd return to the ground, not much having to be said, though I suppose there wasn't much to say.
As for the people I was supposed to be watching over, they were engaged in a troublesome conflict. They weren't on the verge of death, nor were they hurt much really, but that was due to my familiar intervening.
The giant hybrid would port from place to place with near blinding speed, capturing them in its maw and relocating them. To the point it began to break apart, its mana reserves waning.
As for the star of the show, and the absolute specimen that had them all on the backfoot, it was familiar. I would have called it the same thing, but it was far too sinister to be ranked among the rest.
An anomaly within an anomaly, that time, a biological one. It was, surprisingly, smaller than its counter parts, no taller than any of us on all fours. That would seem the problem exactly, it was far too nimble.
