Chapter 9 - Oppa

Have you seen those K-dramas that are popular among girls? They call it "dramas" for a reason: it's very dramatic. I think the creators just want to redo the same storyline over and over again, making only minor changes. For example, if an actor in one TV series is dressed in blue, the new version of the actor will be dressed in yellow. There will always be a love triangle between the protagonist and the heroine, from two different family statuses. For example, the protagonist comes from a wealthy family, the heroine from a poor family, and the protagonist will always have a fiancé.

What I dislike the most is when the two main couples have so many almost-meet scenes, but they end up walking away in the opposite direction. I could give many examples, but if you watch these types of dramas, you'll understand what I mean. Oh my God, I get angry just thinking about it! To be honest, if you think you know the person and haven't seen them for seven years, the person who is in your mind will rush over and call out their name.

Xiao Lan, the leech, held the umbrella, and his other handheld my waist. I turned around and stared into his sapphire eyes. The rain hitting the umbrella made a soft melody. To be honest, I thought I heard the rain singing "la...la...la..."

The rain poured on Xiao Lan and me. The noise of the city was not as loud as the sound of our heartbeats. I would rather stand in the rain so that it could wash away my tears. If I got soaked, no one would notice that my heart was broken, and my tears wouldn't stop. Then I heard someone call my name – that sweet tone I'd heard before. I turned around and saw Xiao Lan wearing his beautiful black wedding gown, holding an umbrella.

"Jig, is that really you?"

"No, you've got the wrong person," I said. I refused to look at his face.

"No," Xiao Lan said. "Even if you dress like this, I know it's you. If you don't love me anymore, why come to the wedding?"

I looked at Xiao Lan, speechless.

"I..."

When Xiao Lan held me in his arms, my heart was full of love. These were the arms I had been missing for a long, long time. I knew I was back in the arms where I belonged.

"Xiao Lan, what's the meaning of this?" Lisa said as she approached us.

I removed myself from Xiao Lan's arms and looked into the eyes of Xiao Lan's fiancée.

"Lisa, I'm sorry," Xiao Lan said. "I can't marry you because the only person I love is Jig."

"If you don't marry me, then you can say goodbye to our parents' business partnership," she said frantically. "Is this your choice?"

"Xiao Lan, as long as I know you love me, we don't have to be together." My tears continued to fall.

"Jig, I don't care what my parents say. I don't want to marry anyone. I only want to marry you," Xiao Lan said, and he held me in his arms again.

"Xiao Lan, please go back to your wedding. Don't let your financial interests be destroyed by me," I said, tears in my eyes. "As long as I know I exists in your heart, I am already very satisfied."

"Jig, if you want to leave me, I'd rather die!" Xiao Lan took out the gun from the side pocket of the wedding gown and pointed it at his head.

"Ah Lan, stop!" Officer Li said.

"Ah Lan, let's talk about it," Officer Xu said.

Xiao Lan looked at Officer Li and Officer Xu, tears in his eyes, clutching the trigger tightly, shaking.

"Mother." Xiao Lan looked at Officer Xu. "Father." He looked at Officer Li. "If you two don't allow me to marry Jig, I'd rather die!"

"Xiao Lan, if you don't love me, it's meaningless to marry me." Lisa was so touched by our true love that she began to cry. "After knowing your love for Jig, I give up. I can't be your wife, but we can be friends." She looked at Officer Xu and Officer Li. "Uncle and Auntie, since today is the day of marriage anyway, let them get married. I give them my blessings. Don't worry about our business partnership; this won't change."

"Jig, would you marry me?" Xiao Lan asked happily, wiping away my tears.

Then, a car drove towards us from the street. I pushed Xiao Lan away. The car hit me and sent me through the bakery window. The car hit a gas stove and caused an explosion.

Xiao Lan rushed into the bakery. He saw two burned bodies, and without knowing the truth, he pulled the trigger.

After hearing the gunshots, I crawled slowly from behind the counter. I was seriously injured, but my injuries weren't life-threatening. Xiao Lan was taken to the hospital, and the surgeon told us that he would live.

During the two days Xiao Lan was in a coma, I stayed by his side. On the third day, after Xiao Lan woke up, I felt very happy.

"Xiao Lan, you're awake now!" I said happily.

Xiao Lan looked at me strangely.

"Who are you?" Xiao Lan asked me. "Where are my parents and fiancé?"

To be honest, right now, this moment, as we looked into each other's eyes in the rain, and he held an umbrella to shield us from the rain... if we were in a K-drama, that would be our story.

Sorry, did I confuse you? If I did confuse you, I apologize. Since Xiao Lan and I aren't in a love drama, our scene was a little different...

"Pull your leech's hand away from me!" I said. "How did you suddenly get an umbrella?"

"The ladies around the corner gave it to me."

"Well, good for you. We should separate now. You had a great day."

"I'll leave with you."

"No way!"

"Why?"

"Because I like to live alone. I don't want anyone to live with me."

"You said you would take me back to be your service dog. If a service dog can live with you, why can't I?"

"There's a difference between you and a service dog. A service dog is loyal. When I need help, you—" I pointed my finger at Xiao Lan. "You're a leech. You only want to leech on me when I still have blood. Once you drain my blood, you'll no longer want to be loyal to me. Therefore, I would rather have a loyal service dog than... than a handsome leech!"

"I don't drain blood. Vampires drain blood; we, werewolves, don't drink blood, but we can eat you whole!"

"Ha...ha...ha...ha...very funny. I would rather live with a vampire or a werewolf, but not a leech!"

Xiao Lan was moving closer and closer to me.

"Say it again."

"I would rather live with vampires or werewolves than with a leech!" I smirked at him.

"Would you regret living with a werewolf?"

"Never! If I live with a leech, I'll regret it greatly!"

"Very well," Xiao Lan smiled.

Xiao Lan grabbed my right hand with his left and opened his mouth. I could see the long, white teeth slowly moving from under his gums. He bit me badly. Then he began to suck hard at the top of my right hand.

"Let go!" I screamed in pain, hitting him on the head twice.

I didn't know what happened just now, but the burning pain was excruciating. Suddenly, Xiao Lan let go of my hand. I looked at my right hand, covered in teeth marks and dripping blood. My right hand kept shaking. I looked at Xiao Lan angrily.

"You scream like a girl!" Xiao Lan smirked arrogantly, wiping my blood from his lips.

"What the hell...!" I began to blow on my wound.

"You said it yourself: you would rather live with vampires or werewolves."

"You're neither! You're a leech! Why did you bite me, you dumb, stupid dog?!" I grabbed my shirt and pressed it against the wound to stop the bleeding.

"I didn't bite you," Xiao Lan, the leech, declared innocently. "I marked you as my property."
