Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 1: Kong won't stop till his head is rolling

[A/N: I'm trying something different in this chapter, I don't think you'll notice it, but I just wanted to let you know.]

"Flash, keep going straight, once you have finished crossing the bridge, you'll see the Military HQ!"

"Alright!" Barry shouted as he sped through the streets.

Barry, a year ago he was just another kid living his life, although a reincarnated one, life should have been more or less the same as it was for everyone else, he would have graduated in some subject, would have found a job, and probably one day, he would be a father with his own child.

But things changed once the lightning struck, now, he's not just a normal kid, he is the fastest one alive.

The people trying to leave the HQ, almost gasped when they saw the black streak that ran past them so fast they could barely see a silhouette.

He jumped over a fence using his speed and slowly approached the place where the sound of explosions and gunshots was coming from.

However before he could even get to Grodd, he suddenly stopped and watched as a fighter jet left a trail in the skies, it made a rolling maneuver and started to go down at extremely high speeds, probably almost at Mach 1.

For an aircraft, it was very quiet.

"Barry, I think they want to try hitting him from above." Cisco's voice came from the intercom.

"Yeah, I noticed it. Do you think they will succeed?" Barry hid behind a big rock on top of the hill he had stopped on and watched.

"Even if they do, it will only work once, after that, Grodd will have his guard up against attacks of such nature, the only thing he won't be able to guard against is someone faster than his eyes," Morgan spoke as she watched everything that was happening through the TV.

Barry couldn't help but murmur something under his breath as he watched the scene with caution.

The fighter quickly approached Grodd, suddenly it pulled out four missiles from a hidden compartment and shoot them at him from above, they must be some new kind of technology because despite being clearly visible in a situation where the sky was clean, there was pretty much no sound at all.

Grodd had just crushed a battle tank around when the missiles hit him in the back launching him on the ground and destroying the concrete beneath his feet.

Barry watched in amazement as the impact wave crossed the area and hit him full-blown on the chest, almost making him fall on his back, the dust cloud that rose after even had the shape of a mushroom.

Meanwhile, in the military intercom, Hal Jordan, the Ace of the air forces employed for the job cheerfully cried making Eiling frown slightly hearing his annoying voice.

"HAHAHA! That's what you get when you try to make trouble when Hal Jordan is around!" Hal smiled as he pulled the stick and turned the multi-role fighter up, now he had distanced himself from the area to wait for further orders.

"Shut up, Jordan!" Eiling shouted. "You there, soldier, I want confirmation of Grodd's death right now!"

"Yes sir!" The soldier nodded and contacted his colleagues.

Barry who looked at the scene, however, already knew the answer.

"They failed... Are you sure I can fight him?"

"Barry, do you understand the laws of physics? The faster you move, the higher the amount of kinetic energy you'll carry, do it right, and even Grodd won't be able to withstand you, just don't force it too much."

He nodded and set off to fight.

As he ran, the soldiers were startled when they saw a black streak entering the dust cloud and dispersing it, everything was quick and somehow slow at the same time. Whatever that thing was, it felt like it was hitting Grodd many times, be it from left or right. Overall, they now knew that Grodd survived and one more element was added into the equation.

"What's going on!?" Eiling asked over the intercom.

"Sir! Grodd survived the missile attack and an unidentified element has joined the fray, it's an extremely fast black streak, we don't know if it's an object, a person, or something else!"

"WHAT ARE YOU STUPIDS WAITING FOR, SHOOT EVERYTHING YOU GOT AT HIM!"

The soldier nodded and soon ordered all of his subordinates. "Everyone, shoot him down!"

They reloaded their weapons and started to shoot at Grodd.

If his fight against him wasn't already a problem, as he tried to avoid Grodd's movement and punched him at the same time, with a rain of bullets coming towards him, he had no choice but to run for cover.

"Aaagghgh!" Grodd cried as he lifted his arms in front of his face, now that he had his guard down and didn't manage to use his telekinesis, every single round hit his skin, but even then it wasn't enough, from behind the scraps of a truck Grodd had destroyed earlier, he watched as the bullets hit him and bounced off his skin, it was like seeing someone punching a person in slow motion, the impact wave traveled through his skin but it wasn't enough to pierce through it.

Suddenly Grodd lowered his head on the ground and clenched his fist, he slowly raised his arm, and in a moment of pure rage, he let all that build up energy in his body course through his muscles as he shoved his hand on the ground, opening a crater the size of his hand on it.

He felt the resistance of the earth and the pavement, but it wasn't enough to stop his rage. Soon, rifts cut through the ground before reaching the soldiers, and in a single instant, it exploded upwards, launching everything on the ground towards the sky, the tanks, the people, the guns, everything was simply blown away.

Fortunately for them, Barry was already moving. Feeling that electricity in his veins, the world once more slowed down as he increased the strength on his legs, a single leap forward leaving a deep imprint of his foot on the ground.

He started by the one on the further left, the guy was about to have his chest pierced by some of the debris when Barry finally got to him, he pulled him and put him safe and sound inside a hangar just a few dozen meters away from the battlefield.

As he moved, not only he had to carry the people, he also had to pull away most of the trash Grodd had thrown at them using his telekinesis.

Grodd watched enraged as the black streak with yellow lightning surrounding it took everyone out of the way, his pupils contracted as the veins on his head popped out, and the memories of his escaping of the S.T.A.R. Labs resurfaced, he knew who was him.

"Barry! Are you alright, got some weird readings here, there was a sudden spike of cerebral activity!" Cisco called out after reading the information on his screen.

"It's not only that, your glucose levels are dangerously low! Whatever you just did to get everyone to safety wasn't a good thing, your body is consuming too much energy, Barry!" Caitlin warned as she saw the warnings on her screen.

"It was just something weird that happens sometimes, don't worry about me, I can still run!" Barry shouted, as he went after Grodd once more, this time unaware that his speed slowed down enough so that the Gorilla could see him.

So when Barry got close enough to hit him, he was surprised by a punch that went past him so close he fell down on the ground and rolled away.

"GRODD WILL KILL EVERYONE! GRODD WANTS EILING'S HEAD!" Grodd jumped over and was about to fall on top of Barry who was unconscious when suddenly he was hit once more on his back by four missiles that launched him away enough so that he wouldn't fall on top of him.

At that moment Barry opened his eyes once more, and stood up panting, he watched as the jet flew over his head and suddenly stopped mid-air. It was Grodd, despite having been hit again and again head-on, he still had the energy to use his telekinesis.

Seeing that his attention was focused on the jet, Barry wasted no time, he ran towards him and started launching a barrage of punches in super-speed, the effect was instant as Grodd cried out in pain and loosened his grip on the aircraft.

"LET HIM GO!" Barry cried, but Grodd wasn't willing to do it. Blood spilled from his mouth, but Grodd wasn't ready to give up, so he pulled down on the aircraft, making it shatter mid-air and become a pile of rubbish.

"Danm you, Grodd!" Barry couldn't believe that the guy who had saved him was dead! He looked upwards and sighed in relief when he saw someone falling with a parachute towards a safe place. This moment of distraction, however, cost him too much.

"GRODD WILL KILL FAST MAN!" He grabbed Barry by the waist, his hand being so big that it managed to go around his body easily.

"UGH! Let me go, you son of a bitch!" Grodd tightened his grip around Barry, the painful feeling traveled every inch of his body making him cry in pain. "AAAAAAGGGGGHHH LET ME GO!" He kept punching Grodd's hand all this time, if he stopped he could die.

"BARRY!" Cisco, Caitlin, and Morgan shouted, they couldn't believe what they were seeing, if this continued he would die.

However, something unexpected happened, as his movements increased in speed, the lightning he usually generated when running suddenly attached itself to his arms, and started hitting Grodd as well.

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAHHH!" Grodd opened his hand, and Barry fell to the ground, still bewildered after feeling so much pain, it took him a while to notice the smell of burnt flash coming from Grodd's hand.

"EAT MY PUNCH YOU ASSHOLE!" Barry canalized all his inner hatred at that moment, and hit Grodd on the face, using everything he got, this time, his punch was so fast that neither of them managed to see it, even then the result of such impact was clear, as Barry fell on his knee and clenched his teeth feeling his broken hand, while Grodd flew away and fell on top of a car.

"Barry... did he just..." Cisco watched in amazement the scene playing out on the TV.

"Wow! So super-speed equals super-strength as well?" Caitlin shook her head, as she saw the readings coming from the scanners on his suit. "His muscles are really stressed out."

"Super-strength only if he wants to break every single one of his bones, prepare the tools, we will have to patch him up when he arrives, actually... Barry can you still come back?"

Barry spat some blood on the ground, as he winced in the pain, slowly he opened his mouth and said. "I... think so..."

"Then come, we have a medical team ready to receive you."

Barry nodded and quickly left the military headquarters.

On the television, Lois Lane, the reporter from the daily planet, started speaking. "For our viewers that may have turned in just recently, the epic scenes you just saw happened on Central City, where I and my team arrived to make an interview about the new series of military jets revealed to the public, today we saw not only a demonstration of its capabilities, we may have even seen the birth of one more superhero, but now I have a question, who's fast, the black streak, or our beloved Superman? I don't know about the people of Central City, but I bet my chips on our red-cloaked friend who wears his underwear outside his pants, this is Lois Lane from Daily Planet, now ending the transmission."
