"She doesn't need to do that," Aldrich said, lowering his head. In the corner of his eyes, he saw the book on the bed which reminds him of how kind-spirited Briony is.
"You are right," Rowan said though he knew that Briony thinks otherwise.
After a while, Rowan spoke again. "After what you did and tried to do to my daughter I would want to be the one to personally kill you. I have lost count of how many I have killed before and I wouldn't hesitate to put another one on the list. But you are lucky that my daughter begged me to be lenient to you,"
Aldrich raises his head to look at Rowan. What does he mean? Was he spared, he asked himself. He waited for Rowan to continue his sentence.
"I don't want to impose any longer on my son-in-law's hospitality so you will be banished from here. But if you ever try to get near my daughter again, I swear I will kill you on the spot. I have my ways of finding out if you ever try. Do you understand?" Rowan said in a strict voice.
