A passage from a book titled [The Dangers of Chaos cultivation without a guide], a book written by a Kaijin Lord whose name he erased from history.
...
There is a reason why [Chaos] needs to be cultivated around a singular desire.
Mortals are composed of a million little desires, stacked and woven together until they form what we call a "personality," a soul.
These desires can be changed, destroyed, replaced, and renewed as a mortal goes through life.
It is a constant source of flux that perfectly counterbalances aether and anima to an extent, but it is the absolute worst thing to connect to [Chaos].
If a mortal were to try and cultivate [Chaos] without a clear [Desire] in mind, this energy will latch on to whatever [Desire] is most prominent in someone's mind in that exact moment.
If someone happened to be hungry, [Chaos] would turn them into a glutton.
If they were feeling lustful, they would become a full-blown pervert.
