'So!? Do you expect parents to be idle while their kids have fun?' A comment popped up and I immediately sat up. 'He is right. It will rather be considered unfair if children are having fun, while parents are sitting idle.' Another supported and I sighed as everyone sided with him. I had no points to oppose it. I switched my phone and slammed it on the bed close to me. I groaned and bit my lips in desperation. I stood up and left my room and went outside the hotel.
'Hey.' I heard a familiar voice behind me and I turned to see Jace. 'Hi. It is a wonderful weather, right?' I said and turned to look back into space. 'I...I saw your feed.' He said nervously. 'You don't have to talk about it.' I said and closed my eyes before taking in a deep cold breath. 'I am sorry, it didn't work out though.' He said draping his arm over my shoulder and pulling me closer to him. I felt relieved just being in his arms, they soothed me.
'Jace I am grateful to have someone like you in my life.' I said and then he pulled away and made me stand in front of him. His grey eyes looked at me intensively. 'I am very grateful, I get to be with you.' He said and I smile before hugging him. He hugs me tightly and I didn't know when the words slipped out of my mouth. 'I love you.' He kissed my neck and then the words I didn't exactly expect him to say came flooding. 'I love you too, MJ.' It must be the friendship type of love. He didn't mean it, did he?
We both pulled away and stared at the sky. 'We better go to bed.' I told him after a while. 'Yeah.' He said and we both walked back to the hotel. He kisses me on the forehead and I tell him good night. I enter my room and lay on my bed. Then slowly I drift off to sleep.
The next morning...
We were having breakfast in the restaurant when our parents came in. They looked nervous and we wore plain faces. 'What happened?' I asked my mum. 'I... I am sorry about last night.' They all chorused. 'What happened last night?' Justin asked and they looked at each other then back at us. 'I thought you knew about the casino.' Jace's dad said more like asked. 'Casino?' We all chorused and stared at each other.
'It is all over social media.' He said. 'You sure? Because I would have been informed by now.' I said and took out my phone. I scrolled through my feed making sure they saw it. 'See? Nothing, so what are you talking about?' I said and they scratched the back of their necks. I made sure to delete my account and the photo from my phone so that no problem will arise.
'It is fine. We'll be over there having breakfast.' His mum said and they went to the other table.
'Wow, my smart pumpkin!' Jace said and I saw Stacey's jealous face. 'I just hope we are safe.' Justin said and looked at me with a smile and I smiled back.
We had our breakfast in perfect silence. We left the restaurant and met Karla. 'Hey.' Stacey shouted at her and she turned to see us and she smiled. 'How are you guys?' She asked and we all nodded. 'Good, you?' I replied and showed me her thumbs up. 'I am sorry, it didn't go the way you planned though.' She said and I smiled and shrugged.
'Let's just say: Fuck that guy that foiled my plan. That piece of a shitty bastard.' I said and she laughed along with Jace and Justin. 'Yeah right.' Stacey said sarcastically and I rolled my eyes at her. 'So what are you up to?' Stacey asked. 'I was thinking of going couples skating.' She said pointing towards a group of people saddling up. 'That will be fun!' Stacey gleamed and dragged Jace with her and left us. 'Where is your partner?' I asked. 'He is over..... oh! He is approaching us.' She replied and I looked in the direction of her finger. A guy with spray- black hair and almond eyes walked towards us. He slipped his arm around her waist and kissed her. 'Meet my boyfriend, Rayner.' She introduced. 'Melissa-Jane.' I said and shook his hand. 'Justin.' He said and shook his hand as well.
'Nice to meet you.' He said his voice deep. 'Shall we?' He asked Karla and she nodded. We followed them and got saddled up as well. Stacey and Jace were already skating while holding hands. My lips went into a straight line until Justin carried me up and walked me to the edge of the ice rink. He put me down. 'Shall we lady?' He asked so formally and I couldn't help but blush with a slight giggle and took his hand. He led me onto the rink and we both skated while holding hands.
'Okay guys, we have a competition. The best ice-skating couples.' An announcer said and I looked at Justin then at Jace. 'Let's win, princess.' He whispered into my ear and the hair on my neck stood up. 'Sure!' I said and he twirled me and caught me immediately. 'Whoa!' I let out and others did different things. He carried me and twirled me in the air while turning around as the song Alone by Doja Cat blared through the speaker. I bit my lips and spread my arms in the air. He lowered me and I wrapped my arms around his neck and stared into his beautiful eyes. I did a split and he brought me up and turned me around. I backed him. 'Seems couple 36 is winning.' The announcer said and that was us.
He made me face him and took up my left leg and I wrapped it around him. We both twirled and he held my hands as I leaned backward. 'I love this.' I whispered. 'Me too!' He said and pulled me back up and my hair hit his face. He pulled my hair to the back of my ear and I put my leg down. We started slow dancing and everyone clapped. I turned to see Jace and Stacey hugging. I bit my lips and looked back at Justin. He twirled me and knelt. I went back and skated and jumped and he caught me.
