Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Young Madam Enters the House

The man glanced at her indifferently, "I am Lu Shifeng of the Blade Group."

Su Xingyu looked at him in disbelief, feeling like she was dreaming. She had just been in a minor car accident, and now inexplicably dragged into a marriage, with her husband being such an untouchable figure?!

She... she felt a bit dizzy...

Blade Group is one of the top global corporations, mainly dealing with precision optical electronic instruments like military transmission equipment and medical scanning equipment. Rumor has it that the core components of several nations' satellites and submarines are ordered from Blade. Besides, the camera brand of Blade Group is also renowned, acclaimed as the most high-end camera globally, even when the Mu Family's cameras hadn't gone bankrupt, they couldn't compete with Blade.

This massive corporation's current chairman, Lu Anguo, is already over seventy years old.

Years ago, he publicly announced his heir—his eldest grandson, Lu Shifeng.

As the Crown Prince of Blade Group, how many girls in the world longed for him as their dream? If it was an hour ago, Su Xingyu wouldn't have dared to dream she could be connected to such a prominent figure, yet now, she has become his wife.

Truly, life is like a dream.

"So, why did you marry me?" she murmured, her face full of confusion.

With someone like him at the top of the food chain, what kind of woman couldn't he have? Why did he insist on forcibly marrying her?

Lu Shifeng, having completed the marriage formalities, led her through the corridor of the civil affairs bureau, outside which was a waterfall-like heavy rain, the sound of the wind carrying the sound of rain continuously. As he walked, he said to her, "My mother arranged many socialite matchmaking for me, but I do not wish for a business marriage, so if I am to marry, I will choose a wife without family background."

His legs were long, with each step covering a great distance, requiring her to trot along to keep up.

"Wait, hold on," she said, slightly out of breath, "You don't like business marriages? So, do you prefer love marriages? I'm not your true love, so why me?"

She focused on speaking, not noticing that he had suddenly stopped ahead.

She bumped into him, her nose stinging painfully.

He looked down at her, "Love? That's just a boring chemical reaction between organisms. I don't need to rely on my wife's family; I have enough for my wife to rely on me." Relying on a wife's family was an insult to him; he had enough capability to control everything and did not need the help of any woman. A wife, in his view, was merely a necessity for passing on the family line.

Su Xingyu was speechless, unable to follow his train of thought. So, he purely wanted to pick a woman without power or background to marry? And since she happened to be next to him when he was pressured to marry, she was conveniently grabbed along?

What kind of luck is this...

She silently followed him, and perhaps because she previously said "hold on," he intentionally slowed his pace to match hers. Finally, she no longer needed to trot along and let out a sigh of relief, unable to help but let her thoughts wander. Indeed, just as he said, after becoming his wife, she had gone from being "nothing" to "something."

...Ugh.

Why does it still feel like an insult to herself?

She forced a chuckle amidst her misery, well, since she was here, she might as well settle down and take it one step at a time.

Lu Shifeng took her back to his residence, a standalone villa in a wealthy district, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle, very elegant. Su Xingyu stood in the living room, glancing around and discovering the overall decoration was in black-and-white-gray tones, with simple and hard lines, exuding a cold mechanical sense, much like the feeling that man gave.

A butler approached, taking Lu Shifeng's recently removed coat, and said respectfully, "Young Master, you're back."

Lu Shifeng instructed, "Prepare some hot water. Take her to bathe—" he gestured slightly towards Su Xingyu's direction, "From now on, she's your Young Madam."

"Young Madam?!" The silver-haired butler appeared very composed but couldn't help exclaiming upon hearing such a title, looking at Su Xingyu incredulously.

Su Xingyu felt quite depressed; she hadn't wanted this either, okay?

Lu Shifeng said, "Yes, Young Madam, already registered at the civil affairs bureau."

The news was too sudden, and the butler also looked dizzy, unable to resist glancing at Su Xingyu again. For these past years, the madam had been concerned about the young master's marriage, introducing various socialites from numerous prominent families to no avail, as the young master steadfastly refused. How could he suddenly bring back a Young Madam and have it solidified with a certificate?!

"Congratulations, Young Master," the butler tried to digest the sudden news, regaining his professional composure despite having so many surprises and questions, as it's not his place as a servant to comment. He offered a warm smile and said to Su Xingyu, "Congratulations, Young Madam, may you and Young Master have a happy marriage."

…Not happy at all, okay?

Su Xingyu wanted to sigh deeply, but on the surface, she couldn't help but smile and said, "Thank you."

She entered a bedroom under the butler's guidance, which was very spacious, with an independently built bathroom inside.

"Young Madam, please take a bath," the butler said very courteously. "Apologies for the rush; we haven't prepared your clothing. I've already sent someone to purchase it; a maid will bring it in half an hour."

Su Xingyu nodded and said again, "Thank you."

"No need to be so polite, Young Madam. Attending to the Young Master and you is my duty." The butler said before withdrawing, gently closing the door behind him.

She took off the smoke-grey dress she was wearing. Due to the minor car accident on the way, the dress was already soiled beyond recognition, with blood mixed with mud, like a canvas someone had carelessly smeared. Worse yet, the hem was torn, making it unwearable.

"Such a hassle…" She sighed, a bit of a headache creeping in.

This dress was lent to her by her stepmother, Liu Meizhi, with the promise to return it. But after it ended up like this, how could she return it? Pondering over it, she went to clean her body, cautiously as there were injuries on her leg. Luckily, the bathroom was spacious enough with separate shower, sit-bath, and soak-bath options, making it less laborious to clean herself.

She glanced around the luxurious bathroom, so much nicer than her own, with faint steam swirling like an illusion. Truly, fate played tricks on people; this very morning, she was eagerly anticipating the day she could marry Qin Mu, yet now, she had become another man's wife.

Qin Mu…

Thinking of that name again, a faint pain resurfaced in her heart.

Years of love had ended so bleakly, for a man could indeed be so heartless. Then it was better to marry Lu Shifeng, as she was clearly aware from the start that she didn't love him, and he didn't love her either.

No entanglements.

Suddenly, there was a soft sound of the bathroom door being opened.
