Nolan is a top-notch student with excellent grades, loving friends and family, unique talents and capabilities, and aspirations for college. Unbeknownst to everyone, he's also a white-hat/black-hat hacker with an extremely high IQ, a fierce sense of justice, and expertise he alone possesses. He'll stop at nothing to ensure evil and corrupt people are brought to justice, no matter what. More than that, Nolan makes sure nothing gets past him when he takes on corporations and organizations so corrupt, ensuring they pay dearly for what they do to hard-working people who make sacrifices so their loved ones have a chance at a better life. When he's not on the web utilizing his hacker skills or dealing with homework, he's listening to music, reading (sometimes he reads to his little brother Marik to keep him from being insufferably annoying), drawing (sometimes he would draw a portrait or two of his father Toshi and his mother Raya), playing with his friends Thorin, Jonah, Meeko, and Chloe outside, going to the movies, cooking with his family (majority of the times he's learning how to cook with his grandmother Meilin) or just playing Shogi, Go, Checkers or Chess if not engage in tickle fights with his loving grandfather Raiden. Little does he realize that, like the mythical Icarus, he's about to fly too close to the sun, and it'll take everything he knows to pull off one last trick up his sleeve to escape the clutches of the authorities before it's too late, especially if he has any hope of making it to college.

Raiden is Nolan's grandfather and a retired hacker turned college professor. He's devoted to his family and friends and loves his grandsons, Nolan and Marik, very much. He spends his time with Nolan playing Shogi, Go, Checkers, Mahjong, and Chess, while also relaying his firsthand experiences as a hacker and dispensing valuable life lessons and innate wisdom, as well as warning him to be cautious and always think as many steps as possible ahead of those who may pose a challenge. Raiden knows Nolan's secret life as a white-hat/black-hat hacker and supports him 100%, while making sure he stays level-headed and doesn't fly too close to the sun like Icarus did.
