She wanted them to feel specially treated by her, so they would feel valued and be more proactive in spreading the word about her family's business.
These locals had lived in the town generation after generation and knew too many people.
Wanyu had once gone out with Aunt Li, and on the main street, there hardly was anyone she didn't know; you could pull anyone aside, and they'd be able to chat for a bit.
So with both of them helping to advertise her business, Wanyu wasn't worried about not being able to sell her goods.
