Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Reincarnation

Roland was feeling coldness wash all over him. 'So this is what death feel like...' Roland smiles.

Suddenly he felt a strong suction pulling him down. ' Agh! What's going on?'

He felt his head hit some hard and lost conciousness again.

Minutes later he could start to feel his eye lids and opened his eyes. 'What's happening?!' He thought. He could see 2 unfamilliar faces however from what he could see, they were human...

'WAIT dont freaking tell me I-' He raised his arms and could see that his hands were very small meaning only one thing. ' I've been reincarnated into a human baby!!!' Roland's eyes started tearing up. 'I can't believe it. I have to live in this darn planet over again. Fuck!' A thousand emotions whirledinside Roland's heart and he couldn't hold back his tears. "Waaaaaaaaah ah wahh!" It's been far to long since the last time he had cried and all his pent up fruastrations for 2489 years were let loose.

"Come here to mommy my dear.." A kind lady with with a gentle aura wrapped here hands around him and gently lifted him up and prerssed him close to her. She smiled lovingly as she sang him a lullaby.

"Hush now my darling

and feel my warmth

Feel the coldness of the wind

being washed away

You'll feel my warmth forever

And even in winter I'll always be there...."

She continued singing the lullaby and unknowingly, Roland drifted to sleep. Seeing the baby in her arms soundly sleeping, she softened her voice and planted a kiss on the forehead.

"What do you want to name him my dear?" A deep gently voice sound from her side. The lady smiled and said, "Ash, his name will be Ash Blood."

The man on the side responded with a bright smile, "I love it."

A strange growl could be heard in the far distance. They were in a small shack right now and next to them was a forest. It was dark but red eyes could be seen from the distance and from the looks of it, there wasn't only one.

"Lurkers..." The man's whispered.

"Dear..." The woman couldn't help but call out. The man smiled and looked back. "Just sit tight, I won't be long." The woman nodded worriedly. The man closed the door of the shack.

A red moon was hung in the sky.

Step by step he slowly walked to the dark forest filled with many red eyes. He cracked his knuckles loudly, "How dare you lowly demons disturb my son's birth." With a crazed angry smile, his eyes glowed blood red.

Dying growls filled the forest.

Few minutes later, the shack door opened. The man came inside as if nothing, with no blood on him at all.

"Dear are you okay?" The woman asked worriedly. "Why are you so worried?" The man laughed. He tensed his arm, showing his muscles. "Don't you know your husband is strong?" He said smugly. The woman glared at him with a smile. "My husband is the strongest!" The scene was harmonious.

"How many of them were there?" The woman asked.

The man pressed his hand to his chin in thought. " I lost count but more than a hundred."

The woman sighed, "They are almost catching up to us.Seems like it's time to go." She was about to start gathering their things when the man said,

"Now hold on dear, let's just wait for tomorrow morning and rest here. Our son was just born and let's celebrate it."

"How do you suggest we celebrate it?"

"By giving him a sibling of course..." He laughingly said as he pulled her close.

..............

It was now the next day early in the morning and Ash ( who was Roland) just got his breakfast. 'Embarrassing' Ash thought repeatedly. He looked at his surroundings and it was mostly just trees or what seemed like trees anyways except for the fact the leaves were yellow and it's trunk was white. The ground was also weirdly white. It was like someone took the time and effort to paint everything white. This feels like earth but at the same time doesn't. He looked up at the sky and saw it was blue with white clouds. 'At least thats normal.' He thought. 'I'll just keep observing for now.'

The mother, father and son travelled fast. Surprisingly fast. He was carried in his mother's arms and even though she was mindful of her speed, she was going about the same speed of a horse.

'I don't think they are normal humans' Ash thought.

The man, who is Ash's father is named Curtis and as for his mother, her name is Rosaline.

Looking at his mother's silver hair which was rare on earth, he realized his mother was a beauty! His father as well was equally handsome. His jet black hair seemed so enchanting. ' I have parents....' Ash thought. On earth, he had no-one. He had always lived in seclusion filling himself with self pity and remorse for every helping the undeserving humans. Causing himself to be trapped on earth for 2489 years.

'I will do my best with this second chance.' Ash promised himself.

The trio reach the bottom of a tall mountain. You couldn't even be able to see the top. In front of them stood a cave. "Stay closely behind me alright dear?" Curtis said sternly. Rosaline nodded in confirmation.

They entered the cave with no torch. 'How do they expect to se-?' The moment we entered the cave, Curtis' body glowed a bright red. Dispelling the darkness trying to engulf us. His mother stood close to Curtis.

'The shadow is strange....?' Ash thought. Suddenly a shadow tried to leap off the wall and attack me. Curtis' hand appeared out of no-where and grabbed the shadow. He squeezed it and it exploded in nothing.

Ash had so many questions. None of what he had seen so far could be seen on earth and even though he was a god, he was the type who wasn't much of an explorer. His knowledge was really limited. " What was that? How could the shadow do that? What is this place? Where are we?" was Ash was trying to say but as his parents heard it, it all just seem like gibberish. "There, there, don't worry little Ash. Mommy and daddy are here." His mother comforted him thinking he was frightened. 'Dang it, my vocal cords haven't fully grown yet.' Ash thought, very annoyed.

They continued down the cave. The shadows on the walls looked like it wanted to devour us but they seemed scared of the light around Curtis. Everytime they would try to go near it, a part of them would burn into tiny particles and disappear. Ash dozed off and feel asleep. Ash has been falling asleep so often nowadays. When Ash woke up he could hear Curtis's voice.

"Just a little longer and we'll reach the other side." Curtis said.

Finally, we could see light coming from the other end and soon enough, we were outside.

The scenery took a drastic change. On the other side of the mountain seemed like a serene cold forest, while on this side, the temperature seemed to rise and what surrounded them was a barren wasteland.

'This looks like a desert but less sandy' Ash thought.

Rosaline placed a cloth to cover Ash and wrapped him tightly. It wasn't so hot to the point one could feel losing all the water in their body, it more less felt warm. Not so hot.

The heat felt comfortable and Ash's eyelids started drooping down. He fell asleep.

When he woke up it was already dark and a camp fire was being lit up in front of him. He felt extremely hungry. "Wobsu hafj" Ash wanted to say something but it only sounded like in gibberish again. " You want food Ash?"

'Amazing how mother's instinct works.' Ash thought to himself as he drank his fill. He stopped geting embarrassed at this point.

After drinking his fill, Ash notice a pendant from his father's neck. He stared intently at it.

Curtis smilied and picked up Ash. "What is it son?" Ash saw a glowing gold pendant and became curious as to why he didn't notice it before. He tried to reach up and grabbed it but his hands were to short. " Ah curious little one aren't you?" He took the golden pendant off his neck and placed it in front of Ash.

Ash looked at the pendant closely and saw it was in the shape of a dragon. 'A golden dragon.' Ash thought. The pendant was really detailed because you could be able to see every scale on the dragon. A look of amazement showed on Ash's face. Even on earth, artwork like this was very rare and that's why he could appreciate it.

To him he was examining it closely but to the eyes of his parent's, it looked like he really loved playing with it.

"Wow you like it so much." Curtis said with a grin. Rosaline also smiled. Curtis placed the pendant around Ash's next. "Okay from now onwards it's yours." Ash was happy knowing something like this was very precious.

Ash smiled happily. Curtis could feel his body shiver. He had an uncontrollable urge to squeeze those cute puffy cheeks on his son's face. Rosaline saw this and giggled. "Remember to control your strength dear." She said with a smile. " If there's a wound on his face, i'll beat you to a bloody pulp." Her soft and gentle angelic voice ringed through Curtis's ears. He gulped and his body tensed up. Even Ash who could hardly understand the language they were using, shivered in fear.

'Note to self, avoid making mom mad.' Ash ingraved it to his mind.

Ash yawned out of no-where and his body wanted to sleep again. "Sleep again?" Rosaline said in shock. She gentle picked Ash into her arms and let him fall asleep.

"He is going to be real strong when he grows up." Rosaline said.

Curtis nodded. " A dragon gets stronger the more they sleep but this is a bit abnormal. He has been sleeping for 20 days straight since we entered the Valwyn Wasteland and as soon as he wakes up, he goes to sleep straight away. When we entered Shadow Cave, he slept for 10 days, now the number has doubled." Curtis was deep in thought. " Average hatchlings are only able to sleep 1-5 days straight with a 1-2 day break of sleeping afterwards. Those who sleep 5 days since a hatchling to adulthood already end up very strong."

Rosaline shrugged carefreely. " Stop worrying. He is just as abnormal as his father and it's pretty convenient that he is asleep most of the time. He doesn't make noise and doesn't move a lot."

Curtis stared at his wife. " You sure he got his abnormalness from me and not you? With how you're so carefree and not worried about this i'd say you're the abnormal one."

Rosaline smiled. " For now i'd leave him be. Maybe at 1 years old we'll do something to fix his abnormal sleeping pattern but for now let's rest and travel again tomorrow." Curtis nodded in agreementand snuggled close to his wife and son.

Unknowest to them, a creature had set its eyes on them for a couple day now. Seeing its prey fall defencelessly asleep, it crept up slowly. You could hear almost no sound. 'This boy looks delicious' Its shadow reflected on the side. It raised it claws and was ready to strike down when suddenly, Curtis' eyes opened glowing blood red. Without any sound, the shadow disappeared as if it was never there. Curtis closed his eyes back to sleep.

The night's silence was not disturbed as they slept.
