Seth and Mongrel moved through the city, making their way to the apartment the military had given them while they were in the city.
"What is ya plan, Seth?"
"No real plan. I am going to get my core mutation changed and fight. Whoever they want killed I will kill, what they want infiltrated I will infiltrate"
"For how long?"
"I don't know"
"How dangerous"
"I do not know, but I assume we will know after the mission we carry out, won't we" Said Seth
The streets were long and winding, made to be hard to transverse if a military force were to invade, forcing them to move around corners and having no clear line of fire.
The street winded on and on as the two walked on, slowly getting to their destination. They could have taken a taxi, but they walked in silence after the meeting.
The meeting was still replaying in Seth's mind, how the Harenae in that room looked at him and how the Humans had dismissed him. He was not sure why it annoyed him.
Most humans wanted to avoid him, hated him, or was enthralled by him. Many wanted to be him, while others wanted his heart in their hand.
The building they walked up to was one out of a thousand in the city. It was no different apart from the fact that Seth and Mongrel lived in this one for now.
The elevator dinged and they got on, following the directions on the gauntlets.
The door to their apartment opened, welcoming them into their home for now. The whole apartment was modern but soulless. There was nothing within it that would show someone had lived here before.
As they stepped into the room, a message came through on their gauntlets.
"I guess that is the mission brief"
"They sure are efficient"
"Shall we go over it?" asked Seth.
"With a drink sure, what else can we do in this flat of nothingness"
"How about you go down and get the drinks. I have another message I wanna look through"
"Is it the list of mutagens ya can swap for?"
"Yea it is"
"Then I'll leave ya to it. Tell me how it is when I get back"
"Sounds good" Seth said, walking into one of the bedrooms off the side of the living room.
On his gauntlet he saw a message with 10 mutations he had the possibility to swap to. It would not be an easy process, but he would need to do it.
He looked at the first mutation.
In bold letters on the hologram was the words pixie mutation.
"The pixie mutation splices genes with the following animal, Spirillum Novellus. A small animal found on the extreme weather planet called Sun shine by local inhabitants the Spirillum Novellus is an animal able to control electromagnetic pulses to travel erratically at high speed. This creature was first thought to be a myth by the local residents until a magnetic storm knocked the creatures from the air. The body is 5cm high and barely visible when travelling.
The mutation will allow for small pulses of electromagnetic waves, allowing travel on most magnetic surfaces, armour that is normally equipped with this mutation to use its full effects is the Disc armour, each piece of the armour is made from a magnetic metal that offers low protection but with the pixie mutation would allow the user to control the small pieces of the armour to move more like a Spirillum Novellus.

'That could be useful on its own, and may be useful as I do not need armour that is actually high in defense due to the liquid metal I had implanted, but i am unsure if this would be compatible due to the liquid metal. Would this mutation allow me to control the metal better, or not allow me to control objects outside my body?' Seth thought as he continued to read.
"Bat talons mutation splices genes with the following animal, Clava cultellus" Seth paused for a moment taking in the information.
"So it basically allows my body to grow talons, like the ones from the Clava Cultellus, they can be very literal with their names, I am going to ignore this one"
"The Ghatotkacha Blessing mutation splices genes with the following animal, Gigas manus. A massive, human like animal found on the planet called Adromitor 1 by the federation. Gigas manus is an animal of massive size that has extreme muscle control that accompanies their size, allowing them to control each individual muscle fiber, allowing for even greater control of their already extreme strength. Although they look humanoid, their intelligence is no more than an animals, utilizing no weapons. The body is 7m tall.
He read on. The mutation will allow for extreme muscle size and control, armour that is normally equipped with this mutation to use its full effects gel armour. It is a flexible armour that allows the each muscle fiber to move independently without being confined into classical armor. The down side is due to the armour it is limited in adaptability and accessories.

"This one would limit my ability to adapt in situations on the fly and as my next few missions are harder then normal, this is not a good thing"
Seth read through and skipped any others that changed the appearance of his body and were not more useful then his current mutation.
Fist mutation, that hardened the bones in the body, allowing for better hand to hand combat and survival.
Tendon lengthening, that changed his tendons, stretching them, allowing for great speed of movement in bursts.
Wings, one was called. This one had far more downsides then upsides. The wings themself were humungous. To be able to make him fly while he was geared up for combat, and he would have to eat his new body weight in food a day, making it unusable for infiltration mission.
The prices of these where 1000 dollars each. There are not many that are based off of creatures found in the wider universe, but the mutations that were based off these creatures were more useful and of course far more expensive.
The rest of the mutations were no better than his own, a basic body hardening layered on top of a body strengthening, which allowed him almost the same strength, speed and durability of the Erymanthian mutation, which was on the list.
"The Erymanthian mutation splices genes with the following animal, Aper durus, a massive feral boar like animal found on the planet called Magnus 3 by the federation. Aper Durus is an animal of large size that has strong muscles, bones and hide, allowing it to run into trees and split them into two. Size of 1.5m to the top of the back of the Aper Durus.
The mutation will allow for a strong base for any situation, armour that is normally equipped with this mutation to use its full effects standard armour, as it had close to limitless adaptability and accessories.

The last mutation that caught Seth's eyes was the Drekavac.
"The Drekavac mutation splices genes with the following animal, Quiritatio Vox, a small white, almost translucent lizard, found on the planet called Magnus 3 by the federation. Quiritatio Vox is an animal of small size that has the ability to use sound waves to move, attack and defend its body. It can concentrate the sound waves in any direction it wants, as well as being able to use the smallest sound wave to find its enemies. Size of 5cm high and 10 cm long.
The mutation will allow for soundwave controlling, due to an organ growth of the brain, armour that is normally equipped with this mutation to use its full effects. No armour currently has been able to enhance or detract from this ability.
