Rex stared at Duke Lorcan's decapitated head and then back at Princess Davina.
He thought this meeting would end badly for him.
After all, anger consumed him, and he was made to do things beyond what he initially prepared to do.
Now, Princess Davina said that she was angry not because of what he did to the empire, but because he was looking down on her. And—as if the surprise wasn't great enough, she came with the head of her own father inside a treasure box.
"Did you kill him?" Rex asked, eyes widening in disbelief.
"No and yes," Princess Davina answered. "I gave the permission, and Lilliana killed him.
"He was rallying the scattered forces and his own to help Emperor Dominar." Princess Davina's voice was calm despite what she was saying. "If we left him alone, he would have at least a million fighting men that would be tasked to hunt you down or worse, to parley with the Sky City."
"But still," Rex looked up at her in disbelief. "He's your father."
