Rex was now lying down on the shallow water with his head on Nivellen's lap.
He had calmed down significantly thanks to Nivellen's help, but decided to stay for a little bit longer.
It was bleak and muted in this realm, which made a perfect temporary solitude.
Linthia could afford to keep the voidal monsters at bay for a few more minutes, so he doesn't need to hurry back. Besides, the others were as exhausted as he, too. It's a good thing for them to catch their breath in this momentary break.
After all, the hurdle was not done.
"So that's what happened…" Nivellen whispered lightly.
Rex had recalled the things he needed to gather to create the cure, along with his struggle to obtain the Phoenix Feather, which was the hardest-to-get material of all the required materials. He deliberately watered down some parts in his story to not make her feel bad, but it seemed she realized.
"You've suffered a lot," She combed his hair gently. "I hope you don't need to feel all those pains."
