Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Just Came In Obediently

It looked like a little hand in a big hand, and the big hand didn't let go—

Shi Su: "..."

"Let her sleep for now, and we'll wake her when it's time to get up." Not only did Jing Jihan not move his hand away, he even gently squeezed Shi Mianmian's little hand, with a tenderness that even he hadn't expected.

Shi Su: "......"

In just one night, Shi Mianmian not only went to sleep in someone else's bed but also held on to their hand and wouldn't let go!

The daughter she raised with so much care is only four years old and she's already rebelling?

"Achoo—" Shi Su suddenly sneezed.

Jing Jihan glanced at her disheveled appearance: "Go take a shower."

"Oh." Shi Su rubbed her nose with her hand and headed to the bathroom, her movement to close the door suddenly freezing.

If she were going to shower, fine, but the matter-of-fact tone of his command was a bit too natural.

She didn't even notice it just now, and obeyed so readily?!

"Achoo—"

Another sneeze.

Shi Su held it back and decided not to go back out, turning instead to turn on the showerhead.

After Shi Su finished her shower and quickly prepared some breakfast, it was about time for Shi Mianmian to wake up.

The enticing smell of breakfast wafted from the kitchen, and there was a sudden tinkle of laughter from the master bedroom.

Shi Su walked out of the kitchen and glanced into the open bedroom door, seeing Shi Mianmian, that little rascal, with messy bedhead, still lying on the bed. Her little white feet were restlessly kicking near the man's hand as she giggled non-stop.

"Shi Mianmian, don't be rude like that. Get up, wash up, and have breakfast," Shi Su called from outside the door, then scurried back to the kitchen to dish out the noodles she had just cooked.

Mianmian quickly sat up in bed, seeing that mommy had already left, and quickly grinned at Jing Jihan: "Uncle, can I come sleep here again in the future?"

"Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't." Jing Jihan faintly curved his lips and lightly tapped the tip of her nose. Then, as if sharing a secret with her, he whispered, "If your mom isn't around and I haven't left, you're welcome to come."

Shi Mianmian eagerly nodded, placed a finger to her lips, and hushed. Then she giggled happily for a long time, afraid her mom would find out the secret between her and uncle. She quickly got out of bed and ran back to her own room to freshen up.

Shi Su placed the breakfast on the dining table and headed towards the master bedroom, saying, "I've noticed you've been getting up and moving around more these past few days, so come join us for breakfast. I made noodles; your portion has less oil and salt, not sure if it's to your liking."

This was the first meal they had together since Jing Jihan had been at her house for about ten days. Previously, to avoid impacting his wound healing, they would bring porridge to the room.

It seemed like his recovery had improved significantly over the past couple of days, so he should be able to walk around a bit.

At the dining table, Shi Mianmian seemed lost in thought. While eating breakfast, she repeatedly cast stealthy glances at the man sitting opposite her, her eyes gleaming with laughter, as if she had just eaten a dozen chocolates in delight.

It only took one night for that little rascal to have secrets with an outsider.

Shi Su gave her a sharp look, and Mianmian quickly lowered her head to eat.
