"So let me get this straight, you have magic? You can talk to snakes? and she is a fifty year old woman who is stuck as a snake due to a curse?" Bella said rubbing her temples. Currently her, Kane, and Nagini were back in the hotel room where she was getting this information from him.
"Yes, but she said please do not mention her age please." Kane said looking at Nagini weirdly, she was a snake now did it matter if people knew her age or not.
"How long have you known this about yourself?" Bella asked looking up at him.
Kane didn't hesitate and told her his life story which made her more shocked, though there were some things that he didn't mention that she would learn in the future. "Well that is pretty much it really, other than that you know everything that I do about the magical world. Though there is this." Kane held up a black book that Nagini had given him, she had went back into the woods when they were leaving to retrieve it.
"What is that?" Bella asked with a raised brow, she had also seen when Nagini brought it over.
"Nagini says that it is a magical journal of some wizard, no name though since it is never mentioned inside. But she said that if I read this it should help me with my magic while also helping me study things I may not learn later." Kane said flipping it open to only blank pages but he could see the magic pouring off of it and knew it must be enhanced in some way.
"Why are there no words?" Bella asked looking over my shoulder.
"It has some enchantment that is hiding everything, I have to wait until Nagini wakes up before trying to figure out what it is though." Kane said looking over to Nagini who was sleeping on his pillow at the moment, this was the first time in months she wasn't being annoyed by Voldemort so she could sleep.
"I see, well I need a moment to take this all in." she rubbed her forehead and while taking he clothes she went to take a shower.
Kane shrugged and put the book away they got what they came here for plus the fact that he got to get to know a little more about the magical world then everything was good. They were heading to America next, someone in Texas had made what they were calling the hottest pepper in the world named, Ghost Rider, apparently they had a challenge for it.
Two Days Later.....
The finally made it to Dallas, Texas the place was way different then what he was use to environment wise, Nagini who was on his shoulder also looked around everywhere she hasn't been in society in years. They found a guy who owned some land it was also the same person who was growing the peppers, the guy was a fan of spicy food so he had this idea.
Bella talked to him and he agreed to give them as long as one of them could beat the challenge which was to eat twenty within ten minutes, one two people have beat it. Bella didn't even think and looked over at Kane, "You can do this, you are the one who seems to not be effected by this stuff for some reason."
The guy looked at Kane and gave a wry smile, "Are you sure this child can handle it, not to brag but these have caused people to go to the hospital before."
"Trust me if there is anyone who can beat this it is him. I honestly think that he has no feeling in his mouth which is why he can do this." Bella said shaking her head.
The truth was..... well Kane didn't know really he had always just enjoyed eating spicy things as for the heat of it all it didn't really effect him, he thought it was sweet. As for actual sweets he avoided them like the plague, he had a single piece of chocolate and felt as though his teeth were going to fall out because of it.
"Fine come on kid." The man led them to the side of his house where his outdoor patio was before going inside to grab something.
"Will this be okay?" Nagini asked looking at him, she felt that he should be working on magic at the moment.
"It will be. We can look over the book once this is done, after this Bella wants to head back to work on recipes anyway." Kane said lightly rubbing her head which he learned that she loved.
Nagini nodded. When the guy came back he didn't even have time to start the timer before Kane took three and ate them at once, his eyes widen and a greedy expression took over. In a minute all twenty were scarfed down and Kane actually looked upset there weren't more, while the man couldn't even close his mouth seeing what happened.
Kane left them to talk and we back to the car with Nagini, "Alright now that we have some free time let's get to work. Although I don't know who wrote this there was a note left inside with the password to see the words on the page, after I read it they disappeared."
"What are they then?"
"Frigidus in tenuem dormit." Nagini answered in Latin, those were the words though there was no other way even saying the same thing in different languages didn't help.
Kane nodded and repeated the words before lines of words started to fill the page, slowly the pages turned themselves and they also filled up it was an introduction to different magic. "Why haven't you did this yourself?" Kane asked looking through the book.
"Well I have it is just since I am stuck in this form there is nothing I can do about it, I need hands to change the pages after all. Plus since I wasn't a master in wandless magic it couldn't be helped that I couldn't do anything with it." She said her tone bored as she spoke, Kane though could feel the sadness in her words though from her speaking.
Kane nodded and flipped through the pages he wasn't looking for anything specific at the moment just trying to figure out what it had to offer at the moment. He was speed reading at the moment, the book looked thin and small but the thing was endless with countless things like; Spells, Potions, Enchantments, Runes, Dark Magic, Magical Creatures, Rituals Etc.
He was impressed since it seemed the person who made it took the time to go in depth about everything that they knew, if he tried to read it all then he would take years to get through one section. He finally stopped on something though that caught his attention it was something about house elf's.
They were magical creatures that fed off the magic of Wizards and Witches, well more like it took their magic for those creatures to survive in the world without it they would die. That was just the small intro though from what he was reading they went more in-depth and he didn't want to know what the person went through to get this knowledge.
After reading more about them he paused for a moment and decided to wait until they got back to London until he tried to summon one to be his house elf. Finally he reached the last page but it was blacked out there were white words across that read 'Reach Fifth Level Magic Core to Read' Although he didn't know what it was he would find out later.
Nagini was also interested but she didn't say anything and let him read what he wanted to, Kane went back to the rituals section which showed so many that his head hurt. While he was in the middle of reading one about basically upgrading himself, the things needed for it though were stuff he had only read in books though so he couldn't do it.
It was called 'Blood Leveling' it was something that upgraded the magic in his blood, it was like being a pureblood but without having to commit incest to stay clean. He shook his head reading that, there was a section on purebloods that he read that actually made him gag a little, he was so glad that his father married his mother.
According to the book it you looked deep enough almost every pureblood house was related to another in some form of marriage, even close enough where they are almost cousins. Shaking his head he looked up when he heard Nagini speak to him, "What are you going to study first?"
"Enchantments." He said seeing as it would be something that could help him with his current cell phone problem, he could use magic to replace the cell towers. Hopefully this worked out he didn't know what magic and electronics did to each other but he was excited to find out the limits on it all.
"What is with that creepy grin on your face?" Bella and Nagini asked at the same time making him frown a little.
