While my merry band of misfits rounded up the crew, I decided to speak to Lady Yuna about the temples she visited. I found her with her Husband sitting in one of the larger tents in the Village. She looked so calm and serene. I felt calmer just being in her presence. It was kind of weird. "Lady Yuna, if you could help me find the remaining temples, I would appreciate it."
"You're Pirates, right?" Her Heterochromia eyes were as deep as the sea and open as the sky I flew in. "Yes, I originally wanted to gain the treasures hidden in Macalania, that is where I started this journey." She sighed. "I feel responsible for this as well. I will help you, but only if you save EVERY temple, not just the ones on the map. There are three more that the monks don't know about. The cavern of stolen Faith, in the Calm Lands, The Omega Ruins, and Remein temple, or Baaj if you ask the monks. The hardest Faith to speak to is Anima, in Baaj. She won't speak to you unless you've spoken to all the rest and obtained their treasures."
"I have spoken to Shiva, Ixion, Ifrit, and Valefor."
"You have a long ways to go. I don't envy you the trials that await. Bevelle was my hardest one."
"What's in Bevelle?" My crew would probably shit themselves if they heard me asking anyone a question.
"The king of Dragons, a warrior like no other. Bahamut. I would prepare well before going. The capital city is not as peaceful as they would have you think."
Sounds like an entertaining time for my crew.
"Have you found him?"
I paused in my thinking. "Him?"
"The one with a sword that doesn't cut flesh. You will need him to speak to the Faith is the Calm Lands."
"I have met him. He has decided my Leftenant is in need of a guardian."
"Is this Leftenant a Summoner?"
Yuna seemed excited to meet Musaki. I don't know if that is a good idea.
"In a way. She was gifted Shiva's Tears."
"Shiva must have liked her then. She was always a proud woman."
"It sounds as if you knew her."
"I know them all. If you get the chance to speak to Bahamut, tell him I'm sorry. I couldn't let the dream die. He will understand what I mean." Tidus shifted uncomfortably beside her but didn't speak.
I left the village with a lot more to think about. My first move was to head back to the Calm Lands. That one seemed the easiest to find.
I made my way back to the beach in time to witness Musaki attempt to run for the water, a surfboard under one arm. Nobunaga dropped down in front of her and lifted her off her feet and over one shoulder. He took the surfboard easily. I watched him cart her back to the ship like a sack of potatoes.
"I wonder how he is important to this mission." I sighed and followed them on board. Musaki kicking and screaming the whole way.
I entered the bridge, and my men were waiting for me. I saw the pout on Musaki's face. "Nice try Leftenant." She glared at Nobunaga by the wall but said nothing. "Based on new information, we are going back to the Calm Lands. There is a hidden temple there. The last Faith won't speak to us unless we see all the rest first. Teams, Musaki and Nobunaga are with me. Esqueezeme, I need you to train men with high accuracy scores to be snipers. Nobunaga will be swapping out with you in the meantime."
Esqueezeme had the good sense not to question me. Musaki kept glaring at Nobunaga. "Leftenant Musaki, find some reason to like him or I'm going to sideline you again." She pouted and glared at the floor instead.
I have no idea why she doesn't like him, but it ends now. I can't afford rifts.
I stood up from my chair. "Newind, chart a course for the Calm Lands. That's our next stop." I left the bridge after I finished giving orders. My mind swirled around what Valefor told Newind. She had to have more information, but she won't spill the beans, so I'm left with more questions than answers.
I tried to give thought to why she said we needed to speak to all the Faith, why not just Bahamut. Lady Yuna said my quest won't be a walk in the park either.
I plopped my extremely tired ass down in my desk chair and put my head in my hands. My mind swirled with the possible ways this could all go wrong.
The return trip to the Calm Lands was uneventful, if you call the unending arguing between my Leftenant and the new Chief Medical Officer uneventful. I decided to promote Nobunaga to the role because of his knowledge of this worlds medicine and the required herbs to make said medicine.
He doesn't seem to mind the promotion, Musaki on the other hand is pouting. She had hoped that his new role in my team would leave him out of field work l, but not on my team it doesn't. Every member of my team is subject to field work. When I told her this, she started pouting and picking unnecessary arguments with the poor man. How he puts up with it, I don't know.
I met up with them on the flight deck.
"Is my shuttle ready for launch."
"Yes Captain, all systems nominal, we are set for launch."
"Good, load up. We leave immediately. Tell the bridge we are set for take off."
As ridiculous as it sounds, the smooth take off and landing near the cave of the stolen faith was almost too easy.
"Captain, I'm picking up P.O.G activity within the area." Musaki informed me on our approach to the landing zone.
And there is the reason. P.O.G. Those dipshits never seem to learn. Nobunaga seemed distracted for some reason.
"Let's be ready for a fight. Nobunaga take point, Musaki on right flank, I'll take left."
We landed and then activated the cloaking shield. He wasn't distracted enough to not hear my orders because Nobunaga moved to take point. His hand hovering over the handle of that creepy ass sword.
"Okay here is the plan, we take care of the Idiots from P.O.G, then deal with whatever the Faith here wants. Copy?"
"Aye Captain!" Musaki answered immediately. Nobunaga nodded in my direction. I'll take it, considering the cryptic fuck rarely speaks. I readied myself for battle then signaled Musaki to open the doors.
