"Are you ready, darling~?"
Hearing the slightly sultry voice, I felt a smile appear on my lips as I turned to Teresa. She was hugging my arm and had her chin resting on my shoulder. She was staring up at me with a loving gaze as the smile on her face seemed to light up the void. I gave her a gentle kiss on her nose, and she giggled in response.
I turned away from her and toward the swirling portal before me.
Apparently, after Teresa died, she was accidentally killed by a higher being. So, she decided to reincarnate into a goddess. So that she could watch over me and meet me again. Yet, being a goddess, she also had god-like powers that came as an 'apology' payment from her death.
"Tell me," I glanced back over at my love, "Where are we exactly going to?" Teresa giggled, and her eyes gave off a gentle blue glow.
"Remember that anime we watched after our mid-term in high school?"
"Um...Oh, wasn't it that High School of the Dead anime?"
She nodded her head, causing her hair to sway as she replied, "Yep!"
"Aren't their zombies in that world?"
"Yep!"
I gave her a wry smile as she continued to have a bright smile, her eyes sparkling as if wanting praise for her choice. I sighed and gently kissed her forehead, eliciting a brighter smile to appear on her lips.
I heard the sound of crackling lighting and peered over at the portal. I watched in fascination as the portal seemed to cave inward, and a bright white light erupted from within the middle. I felt Teresa tugging on my arm as she went toward the portal.
"Come on!" She yelled, her face full of excitement, "Let's kick some zombie ass!"
I sighed again but kept a smile on my face as I was pulled into the portal, a bright light erupting within my vision as my entire body went numb.
