Claude Lee sat on his camp bed, leaned out towards the neighboring bed, and said with an air of importance:
"Even the cavalry and infantry of Iron Peak County have to separate. The cavalry side is buzzing with rumors, and they're all trying to find out where they're headed!"
On the bed next to Claude's, Houdel lay curled up listlessly, showing Claude only his back.
Upon hearing Claude's words, he couldn't help but snort derisively, mocking, "Listening to this and listening to that, it's all bullshit! If the cavalry are being split off, might as well hand over the cannons too and see if the Mason Commissioner agrees."
Ever since attending that "entrance exam," Houdel had been in a mood of melancholy and cynicism.
And because the exam results had yet to be announced, Houdel's symptoms were getting worse.
