Chapter 2 - Reborn

They realize what was going when they hit the water, to their surprise, they survived. The two swam up and gasped for air. "Are you alright!?" He looked for his sister. She laughs with madness as she floats in the water beside him, "I can't believe it!" her tone of voice gave relief and disbelief. He smiled and looked around and saw something bright in the distance. "Look, there's something over there. Let's go before we drown ourselves," he said; she nodded in response.

They arrived on the small plot of land, and it was mostly old stone ruins with overgrown vegetation. The unusual amount of blue torches were all over the place. "What is this place anyway?" She couldn't help but speak her curiosity. "I don't know? Keep your toes up." He warns her. They weren't out of the woods yet. The two continued to follow the stone path while coming across old ruins. They nearly resemble homes to that of human civilization.

When they reach the end of the path, they were surprised to see a rundown church. Why would a church be here? Especially underground, this question haunts their consciousness as they approach it closer. The roof was nowhere to be seen; it was practically roofless. The walls were covered with moss and plants, but when they went through its doorless entrance, they saw an unusual sight of tall angel statues holding spears that were sharp as knives.

There were no benches nor a crucifix present in the church; the statues were all over the room, but most of them were near an elegant table covered in a clean white cloth. The table had a small stone sculpture on it that has seen better days; it has cracks and holes. It was in the shape of a nun with her hands together as if she was praying. Her eyes show oxidation of dryness like it was crying blood. Her cheeks gave off a rusty metallic appearance.

Further ahead of the table, and in the darkness, he saw a rough surface of a rock. He grabbed the standing torch near the table and threw it towards the odd shape he saw in the darkness. To his surprised, it wasn't a bare rock; it was large feet of a stone statue.

The sheer size shocked him, he looked up, and it almost scared him off his feet. "What's wrong?" Leyla expresses her concern; she wasn't paying attention to what he was doing and was busy looking at the statues. He pointed his finger above, she looked up, and in the dark, Leyla saw two giant eyes staring down on them. It's purple like fire pupils were unmoving yet frightening.

The mere sight of metallic yet polished statues and a lonely table with a nun crying blood was unsettling enough. Eyes were looking down on them, and it also doesn't help that there were fewer blue torches complimented the eerie atmosphere. For something that was left to rot here, all of them looked maintained.

A system text in purple pops out, and it follows [Congratulations travelers. You have discovered the last statues of the death god Thanos.]

[Reward: 600,000,000g for each founding member, 500,000 experience points(x2 in a party), Book of death, Book of dread, the scroll of the damn, the twin daggers of Nox, the scythe of the abyss.]

"Bro...brother, am I dreaming!? We'll level up like crazy and rich too!" Her eyes suddenly brightened like a star, she has forgotten what she just saw, but her brother was still on guard. "Leyla, there's no yes or no option to accept these rewards. Let's look around for a bit more." He said. Leyla looked dejected and kicked the statue as she pouted.

"To those who enter this church shall be suspected if you are all worthy to accept such fate, to accept our power. Answer with the truth, and you shall be rewarded, but answer with lies, you shall die." Suddenly, the giant statue evokes a deep voice that rattles the very ground. They both look up to see his eyes glowed purple.

"First question. Are you willing to do everything for power? You are to answer yes or no. Nothing more, nothing less." He said. The two look at each other, and they both answer "No."

"Second question, are you prepared to use everything in your power to achieve absolute authority?" He asked. The two said, "Yes."

"Last question, Will you be able to kill the ones who betrayed you, belittle you, looks down on you?" He asked. "Yes." Without hesitation, they answered.

The room was quiet until all the statues started moving their whole body; they looked at the two siblings with their stoned eyes. They slowly walked to surround them with puppet-like motion. "You have passed. Our power is yours! Use it well, mortals! Kill, destroy, and steal everything you hate!" All of the eyes of the statues glowed dark red.

They pointed the tip of their spears towards them. Not only they lost their gears to protect themselves, but they also lacked the energy and mana to fight back. He could only hug his sister in haste in hopes that he covers her with the little flesh he had.

Unfortunately, their attacks went through both of them. Multiple spears pierce their backs; they retracted their spears out of their bodies. Their bodies fell silent, and their blood flows on the cold stone floor. The statues' spears dripped their blood to the ground. Their blood activated a demonic magic circle; it glows brightly where their dead bodies lay, their wounds closed up and healed. They opened their eyes, shocked and flabbergasted. They felt cold sweats running down their cheeks.

"I thought I was dead!" She yelled out of relief. "Yeah, some ritual that was, I can still feel the pain." He said as he clenches his chest that was once had a spear through it.

[Accept your rewards]

[600,000,000g, 1,000,000 exp claimed.]

Their vision was overwhelmed with the text [Level up] it was flooding their vision due to the amount of experience they took.

[Reroll items: Book of death, Book of dread, Scroll of the damn, the twin daggers of Nox, the scythe of the abyss, Class reward: Lord of Power.]

"I'll abstain from my vote. Take what you need first, Leyla." He offered. "Okay." She viewed the item Book of death [The Book of death, this Book contains the deadliest techniques for the twin daggers and five powerful dark magic.] "Hmmm, brother, I can't take this; I feel like you should...Felix?" Leyla looked at her brother with worried eyes.

He was too enchanted looking at the statue on the table. This little statue was different. "Hey Leyla, now that I think about it? This statue didn't move." He inquired. "So what? We were too busy getting stabbed by those tall statues; besides, what's a small thing like that can do? Eat us? Fine, I'll accept all the rewards. We can trade it later." She sighed as she rolled for every item while her brother abstained. He was too engross on the sculpture like it was calling for him. The more he looks, the more it looks alive.

The little head gradually twisted up; it's neck unnaturally flexible for something made out of stone. "State your name and class." it had an authoritative voice that echoes the room, "My name is Felix, my class is Magic knight," he responded. "Look into my eyes." The sculpture said. "Hey...Are you okay?" Leyla was getting more concerned that her brother has lost it. "Can you hear it?" He asked as he kept staring into empty sculpture eyes. "Hear what?" Leyla scratch her head, confused at what she was trying to convey.

Felix looked at the nun's dark red glowing eyes, he was firm, and his eyes lusted for revenge. The angel's mouth twists into an evil smile.

[The curse sculpture of god has taken an interest in you. She offers you a class change and rewards, will you accept this? (view)] Felix pressed the view dropdown option; he was curious about the prizes he will receive. [ Swords of darkness +10 and daggers of the void+10, suit of darkness, 250,000 experience points, Class change: Fallen Angel General]

"This is so cheating." Felix couldn't believe it. "What was the reward for that one?" he looked at Layla with tired eyes.

He couldn't believe they have survived and found a treasure trove. "Book of death has dark, powerful spells and techniques for daggers, a scythe, and class change to Lord of Power class.

"Lord of Power class? Interesting yet concerning, I got a class change too. Fallen Angel General." He said. Leyla felt a shiver up her spine, "This place is so edgy that it gives me the shivers."

"Yeah. Are you ready to change class and conquer this dungeon?" He looked at Leyla with a smile. "Of course, are you ready to kill our dear closest friends?" She asked as her mouth curve up into a wicked smile. ".....Of course, we'll soon meet them and have….a nice chat. A nice long chat." He said in a cold voice as his smile turned sour.

In an instant, he saw Leyla dropping on the floor. He rushed towards to catch her before she hit the ground, he checks her pulse, and it was weak. He was relieved that the two were still alive and breathing. Felix gently puts her sister on the ground, and he rested her head on his lap as a pillow. He, too, should rest. The statues watch over them like guardian angels, wicked yet kind. The two siblings quietly succumbed to their exhaustion, and they slept soundly under the blankets of darkness. When they open their eyes again, they shall be reborn and wreak havoc wherever they go.
