Mother Bai lowered her head to feed Bai Xiaobai, saying nothing, but her face remained tense. In the end, it was Father Bai who spoke up, "We parents can't quite understand the feelings of you young people, but we always hope you can be happy. Xiao Zhi isn't young anymore. She can make decisions about her own matters. As long as she's willing, we have no objections."
With those words from Father Bai, the weight on Duan Xingzhi's heart finally lifted.
"Thank you, Uncle and Aunt. I swear, I will treat her well." Duan Xingzhi poured himself another glass, raising it with sincerity and said, "I'll drink this one."
Bai Zhi was startled by him holding a full glass of baijiu, "Are you crazy? This is baijiu. I remember you can't drink too much of it, so take it easy."
Duan Xingzhi just laughed, "I'm happy, don't worry, it's fine."
