Bai Zhi smiled, but her eyes were already moist.
She hadn't expected that she would just casually say a sentence and he would meticulously prepare all this for her.
"You..." She managed to say just one word before choking up.
Duan Xingzhi remained kneeling, "Will you say yes to me?"
Bai Zhi covered her mouth and kept nodding, but couldn't utter a single word.
Duan Xingzhi smiled as he took the ring out from the box and extended his other hand.
Bai Zhi gently placed her hand on his palm, letting him slide the ring onto her middle finger.
Only then did Duan Xingzhi stand up, wiped away the tears from her cheek, and lowered his head to kiss her.
It wasn't a passionate kiss, but it was tender and lingering.
After the kiss, he rested his forehead against hers and softly asked, "Are you satisfied with this proposal?"
Bai Zhi simply smiled without responding, which was the best answer.
"I was so scared, fearing that you wouldn't be pleased and wouldn't want to marry me."
