On their end, they were wild until midnight, but over on Duan Xingzhi's side, it was just a brief encounter.
After dinner, Mrs. Duan kept chatting for a while, and when the time felt right, Ning Lanyu took her leave.
Duan Xingzhi walked her to the door. Ning Lanyu glanced at her own yard and half-jokingly said, "Not coming in for tea today?"
Duan Xingzhi's smile was perfect, and so was his excuse. "I have a trans-Pacific video conference in half an hour. Maybe another day."
Ning Lanyu expertly hid her slight disappointment, "Alright then. But do you have time tomorrow? I have two concert tickets."
"Sorry, I need to go to the company tomorrow. If I'm not busy the day after, let's have dinner together."
Ning Lanyu's eyes lit up instantly, and she nodded, "Alright, I'll head in now. Be careful on your way."
"Okay."
