A solar panel quietly floats in low Earth orbit. It has been here for maybe a hundred years. During this century, helium ions from the solar wind have continuously bombarded the solar panel at 400 kilometers per second, etching the originally smooth gallium arsenide surface into a coral-like structure. Space has inscribed the traces of time on this human creation in the most brutal way. When this solar panel was first deployed, the Eighth Martial God might still have been active on Earth.
Perhaps after some more time, it will be re-captured by gravity due to collisions with other space debris and burn up in the atmosphere.
A shadow is cast over this piece of space junk. A battleship gently lowers its altitude. Including that discarded panel, several pieces of space debris are knocked into a descent towards Earth.
The second ship, the third ship...
More vessels enter the area where space junk is denser.
