Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

That feeling. That beating. Same thought and same intensity. Fast, the beating of my heart began to rapidly beat as my legs brought me to the door knob. It was cold, cold as the snow dripping from a roof in Christmas eve.

"Silva?" I jumped. I was startled. Hearing that familiar voice again, I froze. Knowing that I can't look at him like what I usually do.

"Silva," He repeated. I remained in my position. Long lost, but never forgotten memories were beginning to infuriate in my head.

"Will you Marry me?" That sentenced led me to closing my eyes. I bit my lip. The beating of my heart stopped as the moment began to happen again.

"No." Blankly, I answered. I turned to face him. Forcing a smile and looking down, Tim sighed, "Just like I thought." His eyes went up to me. "You'll say no every Christmas eve when I proposed."

"W-why do you keep doing this anyway?" Words escaped from my mouth as tears began to cover my vision.

"Because," He paused.

"Because what?" I raised my voice. Pretending to be the much more stronger one here.

"You know that our parents want us to be together right? You're single. I'm single. Maybe let's give this fake wedding a try–"

"No." Again, I repeated. He bit his lip and teary-eyed, he spoke again.

"Did you really think I'm doing this every Christmas eve just because our parents wants us to be together?" My eyes widen as I stared at his painful gaze. His eyes were hurt. They were lovely, lovely as the petals of a rose. And red—red as the rose's petal that can be torned appart by any moment now.

I can't cry now. I can't.

"Silva." He caught my arm before I could turn my back on him. "I—"

"You what?!" Facing him and eagerly wanting to be stronger any moment, I raised my voice. I got surprised when his finger touched my cheek. Little did I know,

a tear fell. I turned my back and fastly twisted the door knob. I left. I left the people whom I love. Including him.

I left him.

Seven years later, sitting in sofa. In a hotel's balcony, watching the sunrise in a fresh Christmas eve. That's when I realized that I loved him. I was just too scared that he doesn't love me back.

Sometimes, you got to have risks to know things.

There was a knocking on the door. My legs rapidly went as I opened the door, expecting that it was the guy who proposed to me four times in every Christmas eve before 7 years has passed.

"I do. I do. I will gladly marry you. No ifs, no buts." Tightly, I hugged him as if the world is going to end. "This time, I won't let go. Tim Española, be my groom—"

"B-but I'm not Tim Española, Miss."

I quickly unhooked the hug and saw a delivery man holding a familiar package.

"Here is y-your order, Miss." He quickly handed it to me and ran away.

Oh gosh, what in the world happened?

I shook my head out of dissapointment.

"Dela Torre?" I stopped when someone mentioned my surname. I turned around and gasped—

I saw my door still opened. So I hurriedly closed it. "Wait!" Someone screamed so I locked the door completely.

What was that scream? I don't want to get robbed in this hotel. The hotel might charge and sue me.

"Silva." I jumped and nervously opened the door. Without looking at the stranger's face, I answered. "Yes, what is it?"

"Can you let me in?"

"No! Goodness–"

"This is Tim." I froze. "The—um, guy that proposed to you four times? Do you still remember me?" I opened the door slowly and the still-familiar-figure of him was the first to see in my sight.

He spoke, "This time,"

"Yes." I looked up to him, "I do."

"W-wait, huh?"

"T-the..uh, proposal—"

"Oh yeah, that!" He snapped his finger, "I almost forgot."

"H-huh?"

"It's okay not to say yes. I'm used at you saying no to me anyway." He picked something from his pocket. It was a small black box, opening it as he kneeled. Showing a ring, shinning as its jewel glimmered on my sight.

"Will you marry me—achoo!"

"Cut!" Ms. Director screamed. "Hey! This is the last scene. So better do it properly so we can end fast!"

"Okay, Director!" The actor that played Tim nodded.

"Take 2, action!"

"Silva, will you marry me?"

"Tim," I can't hold my laugh any longer. There's a booger that is sticking out—

"Cut!" The director screamed. "Do you think this is a kind of joke? Why are you laughing?!"

"S-sorry, Ma'am. But there's a booger on—"

"Take 3, action!"

"Will you marry me—whoops, sorry. I just got out of balance."

"Take 4, action."

"Will you marry me?"

"Ofcourse—"

"CUT!" I turned quickly to the director. "There's supposed to be tears coming out from your eyes now, leading lady."

"TAKE 5, ACTION!"

"Will you marry me?"

"Yes, this time. I will say yes to you." I told Tim and he was jaw-dropped. There were tears in his eyes and a smile formed on his lips as he hugged me.

"Seven years, the Lord has given me to serve for Him. 7 years have passed when I got the chance to court you in the Lord's name. 7 years, to make me love you." Tim sniffed,

"7 years, but it's all worth it."

"CUT!" The leading man who portrayed Tim unhooked our hug. We looked at the director's reaction and all were silenced.

She wasn't angry.

She wasn't disappointed.

She was crying and smiling at the same time. Clapping her hands and wiping the tears that flowed.

"OUR FILM IS FINISHED EVERYBODY! GOOD JOB TO EVERYONE!" The director happily shouted.

You might be wondering what this story will be about. But this isn't about me and the main lead. It's about our director, and her actor. Same story, same emotions. Same happenings, but not the ending.

Seven years after, there was a knocking on her hotel room's door. She smiled at the sight that the man that she loved was there, and he proposed—

To another woman.

But there was someone that the Lord gave her. Tim was good. But there's someone better. There's someone who is best. That's why the Lord let things happen, for his greater plans and glory.

And then the whole staff and the actors looked at the man who kissed our director's cheek. Congratulating her in the Lord's name.

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you, to give you hope and a future."

The end.
