The voice sent a literal chill down Rose's back and she wasn't surprised when even Fang took a step back as the boy stepped out from behind the boogyman.
He smiled.
"Why don't we try this again?"
Rose tightened her hold on Griselda when she noticed how the boy's gaze never left the little girl. She swallowed and decided to speak.
"W- What do you want?"
Apophane tilted his head to the side, looking mildly disappointed, "I already told you that before, didn't I? Do you wish for me to repeat myself?"
There was a threatening undertone to his voice and Rose quickly shook her head.
"I -I mean what you want with Griselda"
Apophane's eyes widen minutely, but on his stoic face, it seemed like a huge distortion.
"So that's her name," he said, almost softly, "How fitting."
He then shrugged his shoulderded and turned back towards Rose, "What I want with her is none of your business. Just give her to me and your little group gets to live. Please, don't be as stupid as all the others"
