Aero was in pain, not just because he got punched in the face. But his eyes and fingertips were also burning. "Ah, fuck you!" he blinked up his eyes, looked at the group that had come into the valley with clearly no intention of talking. From the uniforms and markings on their clothing, he assumed they were law enforcement from the area.
They had loudly declared that the group was being arrested, which kind of surprised him. been a while since someone tried to arrest him straight out. When he asked why, they didn't answer. When Aero told them he wasn't going anywhere until they explained, they tried to arrest them.
If you knew the lord of pride, you could guess where this went. He knocked down a few of them before, between his light attacks and bursts of fire. But he heard this rapid melody and felt someone's fist in his face. sning him skidding through flowers.
"Alright, let's try that again," he brushed some petals out of his face before standing up and looking up at the captain. The decorations on her clothing were a clear indication. Sitting up, he looked at her. "I'll ask again, what are we being arrested for?"
"I'm once again asking that you surrender, please do it, does not feel right. to strike down a gu-" the bolt of fire at her feet made her jump, an instinctual action she realized was a mistake when Aero came flying at her." Crossing her arms, she just managed to block the blow. using her for leverage, Aero spun and kicked her in the face. sending her spinning as she hit the ground.
Landing, he blated out more bolts of fire at the rest of the forces. mofring them to move and scatter disting there ranks. 'owowowoww!' his finger tips were getting worse, 'need to figure that out!" he urhsing erhtough the fires he started double kicking someone in the face before sliding through the grass and flowers to knock the legs out of another.
on his feet again, he tried to find his bo-staff. "damn it, I thought it got knocked in this direction." Huffing, he continued to move, searching through the vegetation for his weapon while knocking down anyone who tried to restrain him.
"Seriously," Gailia asked." Why are we being arrested? Are you being paid enough to get your ass beat like this?" he watched as Aero blinded someone before kicking her in the chest into another officer. "he's rightfully pissed, you come out of nowhere and try to arrest us. You won't explain why, I don't care what uniform you're wearing. This is suspicious as hell!"
"She's right," Inna commented, rolling her shoulders. tugging the bounds they put on her wrist. "If these outfits come out fake, they are either stolen or some very well-made counterfits," the officer growled. They are not counterfeits! We are officers of the law, and your friend is resisting arrest!" Inna pulled his left hand free of the binds and spun. kicking the woman directly in the gut." Gaila, even though she was still bound, swiped out the feet of the officer right next to her.
Inna quickly struck the rest of them down with Galia's limited help. Quickly, she slashed through the bonds, freeing the wind user, who quickly grabbed her weapon. "I don't know who the uck you are or what you want! But I know you will regret this day!" she glared as the full force of her power came to bear on them.
"HA!" With a wide sweeping motion, she created a gust of wind. Aero braced himself against the ground; the same couldn't be said for everyone else. Several stumbled at the sudden gust of wind, and the teams took advantage of it. striking and knocking them down." Seriously, these were the people sent to arrest us?" Aero asked, he's caused enough trouble to know when hunters were causing trouble.
you sent out the people capable to standing up to them." either were being understiated or something dosun't have the ahtorty to send the right people!" he turned to the women who looked like she was in cahrge." so will you talk? or do we have to make you scream first." she looked up at him glaring before whipping around in a single motion.
"AH!" Aero cried when his legs were knocked out from under him, rolling, he managed to avoid landing on his back. He quickly pushed up with his hands back to his feet and quickly deflected the punch she threw. "Did you really expect that to work? I fight for a living!"
"Silence, you are resisting arrest!" Aero let his head drop. In the same motion, he delivered a combo of gut blow before whipping around into a full kick to the face." Again, I ask, what are you arresting us for? Is that such a hard question to answer?!" He turned to his teammates, who shrugged before they grouped together. The officers weren't down yet, "so what's the plan here?" Inna asked, "Well, something is certainly going on here. We should get to the bottom of this. Is this legitimate or something else?"
"So make a break for it towards the volcano." Aero nodded," You're capable of boosting your physical abilities. You'll reach them quicker than I will." Aero admitted." So Gailia should run ahead to check on them, and we will meet up together. Head to town after that?"
Aero and Gailia nodded in agreement. Each of them is preparing to utilize their energies. "This is our final warning," Aero shouted. What are you here for? Why are we under arrest?" Their opponents started getting to their feet, the women raising their weapons, opening their mouths to prepare meldoies.
aero grinned, letting the energy flow. "Light!" he shouted, bringing down his staff, releasing a large flash of light that flooded through the meadow! Having their eyes closed, Inna and Gaillia rushed out, both of them swinging their weapons into the bodies. doing their best not to unleash lethal force as they moved through the crowd. grabbing an oboicus punh, inna spun. throwing the attacker over her shoulder into another one.
Galia threw herself into the air, flying over several heads ight into the face of one in the back. landing into a roll, she rolled right into a double, getting to some woman's gut. behind them, Aero was just throwing hands at anyone who he could get in range of. He wasn't even aiming at certain points, just swinging. 'This is not a fair fight.' These people had combat experience before they threw in their unusual powers for the planet.
aero stopped mid-motion, his fist inches from a woman's face as he turned to look into the distance. 'That is a large and solid sense of pride; now that he was looking, they all had large amounts of pride.' Is this the beast doing? Resuming his motions, he studied this opponent's tough pride.
There was a touch of the beast infilince, not on the same level as when it manghed the giant. Instead, it was closer to a seed, like the beast was ready to move if necessary. 'Well, that's a problem. pull away from light and heat, "great, I know this was going to be a problem." Winding his grip on his staff, he spun it in warning to anyone who dared approach as he shaped a spear made of pure pride.
Bursting forward, he shifted to a spear grip while overlaying the contrast with his actual weapon." HA!" he thrust directly into the seed. Gah, of course, it was hard as sturdy wood. Huffing, he pulled his weapon back, spinning it over his head. whipped it over the ground, Aero knocked her feet out from under her.
When she hit the ground, Aero raised the construct high before bringing it down directly into her seed. slipping it in two. It started to do something,' not happening.' Acting fast, he wrapped the seed up in his own energy and pulled it out.' Helper, do you have anything?'
' A possibility,' they replied after a moment. 'Nothing that can be confirmed at the moment, only advice I can offer at the moment is asking my lord not to collect too many of those seeds.' nodding, he blocked a few punches before cracking someone's jaw. 'Alright, I need to get rid of these seeds.
Swinging his staff around, he blocked an elbow before twisting it around the limb and hitting the chin of the woman. His legs snapped up, driving his foot into her gut. She snipped away as he swung his spear into her. slashing through the seed before plucking it out.' Okay, how do I get rid of these?'
If they were real seeds, he crushed them into a powder or burned them. 'Can I do that?' Crushing them seemed like it would take a lot of energy and focus.' Things he couldn't spare at the moment, as he blocked, waved, attacked, and snatched another two seeds. He could feel the four seeds doing something as he fought.
"Let's try burning," swinging the construct around, he created a flame, creating a ring of fire around himself, giving him a moment to focus. twisign his pride energy into the form of fire. moving the seeds into the blaze. 'They're not burning,' the construct was too shallow.
'thank the zalts. I've become familiar with fire recently,' he focused on the memories. thinking of the slight burns on his fingers. The warmth he felt every time he conjured flame, focusing his energy towards that form. but stopped before it formed.
The seeds screamed as they began to burn, vibrating vigorously as they tried to escape the flames. Smiling, he kept half his focus on the fire while turning to all the women trying to rush him. he could hear their captain trying to give out orders. trying to surround him, wear him down, not that Aero couldn't see that plan coming and react. "Throughout another flash of light, he jumped onto the stunned woman's shoulder, hopping through them until he reached the other side of their entanglements.
Landing on the last one's shoulder, he kicked her across the face. She stumbled back. falling over, Aero placed his foot on her neck. letting gravity take it from there. She choked as she hit the ground. Aero simply stepped forward before looking back at all of them. "Well, shall we continue?" he asked, ripping the seed out of the woman begging to burn it.
The next few minutes were a blur, he moving and sticking, ripping the seeds out of the moment. They were small, but they weren't burning very easily. 'This is worse than the creature from the forest.' The seeds were weaker, but the numbers were much greater.' That large presence was getting closer.
As they got closer, Aero continued to fight as he must. But he could also make out more details about them.' This flavor of pride was more of a pride of physical ability. At the speed they were moving at, Aero could see why.' This is looking like such a pain.
"Not that this is not already a pain," he turned to the burning seeds. Are there remnants? How are there remnants of an energy construct?' Swinging his own through the body of a woman. cutting at her pride and into the seed. He quickly pulled it out while kicking her in the chest. her carpacae taking the brunt of the damage. So Aero twisted and kicked her in the neck. More importantly, Aero could sense something coming behind him. Whipping around, he kicked her right in the face.
He barely got his chance to plant both feet on the ground before someone tackled him." owow!" planting his staff in the ground, Aero prevented himself from being knocked over as more came at him. 'damn, they're starting to surround me again.' slamming his knees into an organ, he heard his victim gasp before throwing up.
"eww," he moved back, and he turned into a backflip kick into the face of something, kneeling on the ground. He lashed out repeatedly with his weapon, trying to hit the knees and shins of several people. shouts and screams as he stepped low to push some of them off balance and raced out of there, attempting to encircle him.
'I've gotten too distracted,' he was supposed to regroup with his team, not brawling and doing his duties as the lord of pride. 'But I definitely have to deal with all those seeds.' The beast would not wait for long. Instead of reengaging, he broke into a run.
'It's going to take more than a day for me to reach the volcano,' that's if he was lucky. He could see the faint glow of the molten fires in the distance, so he wasn't that much of a risk of getting lost, but man, was he worried. There were many things that could come after him,' don't have any supplies. Someone is chasing after me,' he knew this could be their energy curve to follow after him. 'Are they tracking me with a medley? Or is the beast? Whichever way, it didn't look like he was going to be able to outrun them in the long term.
'So I need to figure something out.' Shifting his path, he stepped on solid objects. roots, stones, the original bone, every trick he knew to leave as little of a trace as possible. Just because they could track him didn't mean he had to make it easier. After a period of time, he started using the melody in his mind to set small traps. bits of much, lengthening branches, wouldn't stop you. But he bet his combat ability it would annoy them.
'Hopefully, even slow them down,' still, he needed a plan for confirming. ' A little too tired for trsihgt forwad fight unless I can get some decent rest.' The situation was also dark, with little light source unless he created more of his own. 'Let's be a bit more frugal with my energy.' The fight against the horde of foes has been expensive, especially between the light fire and the constructs. burning the seeds. He's burned through a great amount of his stores.
'More combat like that and I'll start feeling the side effects.' he just needed another method to deal with his enemies."
