Chapter 15 - Bloody Party

Back to Liam and Natalie:

" Wonderland burrow spins around, landing in different forests. This by far is the scariest forest we've ever landed on." Robert snarled. Natalie and Liam stared at Polly and Robert, dumb founded. "POLLY! Please may you help escort me and Anna to the park?" A sweet little bunny, almost half the size of Polly, if possible, poked his little head through the space left when Robert barged in.

"Aww, sure Stephan, why not." Polly squeaked, waving goodbye to Natalie and Liam while leaving the room. Once they were out of sight, Robert's face turned serious. "You guys have to escape. I can only help you to some point." He blabbered, taking hold of the 2 human's arms and pushing them further into the room while slamming the door shut with his back foot pads. Natalie looked over at Liam who looked as shocked and confused as she felt. "Robert, what are you talking about?" Liam questioned as they came to a halt. Robert padded up to his bed and flung it aside with no struggle.

"You know how I told you guys about the spinning and landing under the forest? " He started as he got on his knees and started peeling off the blue wallpaper from the wall, revealing a little door. "Yeah. Like a few seconds ago. What's going on Robert?" Natalie asked, kneeling next to the bunny who then forced his paw nails deep into the floorboards. He abruptly stopped, exchanging glances with Natalie and Liam. "I guess I have to explain a little. " He sighed, getting back to work, breaking off the floorboard to reveal a weirdly shaped key.

As he fit the key into the keyhole of the door, he began to explain, "I was not always a bunny. I was once a boy called...Joseph Gambel. I came to the wondering forest in search of my dog, Mr. Henderson, and I stumbled upon the devil's blay house, a big mansion in the forest and I stepped into a room that looked like Alice in wonderland themed and I was drawn to a rabbit hole in the middle of the floor. I slipped on some green liquid and fell into the hole and I woke up feeling strange and-". Robert was cut short by a creaking of the door, causing the 3 to look back at the door where Polly stood.

She looked different; instead of blue button like eyes, they were black and while she had normal bunny teeth, they were razor sharp like beasts now, ready for the kill. In her hands lay a sharp knife, poised for the kill. "Don't leave me~" She hummed in a disturbingly innocent voice that sounded different and like countless little voices echoed the words. Robert quickly unlocked the tiny door, a click ringing in the whole building, cause a little vibration to surge through the house. Polly looked struck as realization dawned on her, her face turning inhuman (in-bunny-human) as rage flashed through her eyes, stomping step by step to where Robert and the teens stood.

"Get your lazy behinds in this door before she kills yer!" Robert growls, throwing the small door open revealing a black room with no possible light beyond it. Without thinking twice, Natalie crawled into the damp humid darkness where the only light was coming from the room with the door still open. As Liam proceeded to get on all 4's, he released a blood crawling howl, blood seeping through his t-shirt as he slowly fell to his knees with agony.

Struggling to hold back a scream, Natalie crawled to the open door where Liam knelt, only an inch away from the door. She pulled him through the door until both of them where past the invisible line that separated the vibrant colored room from the invincible darkness. With shaking fingers, Natalie pulled the knife from Liam's back where his shoulder blades and neck connect, a grunt of pure pain released from Liams lips as metal left skin causing an overflow of blood.

Natalie gasped as hot tears crept down her cheeks, a wave bursting to overflow. "Natalie," Robert grunted, averting her eyes to where Roberts blurry physique stood, "Take care." He huffed as the light dimmed from his eyes and he slumped to the floor.

"Robert!" Natalie screeched, clinging closer to Liam's body which was still warm but sticky with blood. The key slid from Robert's hand and through the door and next to Natalie's feet. Reaching shaky fingers, she grasped the key and immediately, a terrifying Polly appeared in front of the door and in a raspy innocent voice she whispered, "It's not over yet..." and shut the door leaving the Natalie and a dying Liam in complete darkness.

As if a lightning bolt struck her with realization, she sat Liam up and pulled his shirt over his head, sticking to his body a bit. Once the shirt was off the tossed it aside, losing sight of it quickly.

"Be gentle." Liam grunted, sitting up a bit, shoulders tense. "Sorry, I'm sorry..." Natalie sighed, her breath rigid and her words wavery. The tension in Liam's shoulder decreased, turning his head to lock eyes with the girl behind him. He visibly winced, terror rushing through Natalie as she removed her backpack and rummaged through it, pulling a small vail from it and tearing off a piece of Liam's shirt which she managed to find in the total darkness.

She doused it in the liquid from the vial and pressed it to Liam's deep stab on his shoulder blade, startling his for a second before the pain hit him hard, a grasping pain shooting through his bones causing a shrill yell to escape from his lips, echoing in the unknown darkness.

Natalie scooted away from him, the cloth in her hand as Liam yelled in agony, clutching his shoulder, cradling it. She tore off a bit of her shirt and reached for duct tape and stuck the drenched cloth mixed with both the substance and blood to the larger piece of her ripped shirt and crawled to Liam. In one swift motion, she pinned him down to the cobalt floor which seemingly looked back causing him to hiss at the coldness.

Turning him over she quickly placed the part with the wet cloth on the stab wound and tied it from his shoulder to his lower right side of his stomach and up his back to meet the wound and tied it firmly.

Sighing in relief, she laid down on the cold dark floor, running her hands over repeatedly on the warm metal key.

"So, what's our next move?" Liam asked, looking down at Natalie even though all she could see was his silhouette. She raised up the key to his face, trying to hint to him but then the key grew hot, causing her to drop it on the floor. Sitting up, they both stared in amusement as the key glowed red, finally illuminating their face and then It cast a light as bright as the sun, finally illuminating the once dark room now a forest looking place with trees and what they thought was a cobalt floor was actually a large rock surface.

Picking up the key, Natalie got up and picked up her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. Reaching out a hand to help up Liam, he stood up with a grunt.

"I guess we go wherever the light leads us to or where we think is sufficient." Natalie sighed, locking finger with Liam.

Smiling down at her, his face turned into confusion. "What was that weird liquid you used on me?" He asked, his voice a bit wobbly. With a shrug, Natalie replied, "I guess it seemed efficient.", as she shoved the now glowing purple liquid vail into her nightgown pocket as they walked through the bushes to explore what was ahead of them with the light of the key leading the way.
