Prologue
Manhattan New York
Honey's all black pencil skirt rose with every strut she took, her black stiletto's heels crushing against the concrete with every step, fiercely walking as if she was on a run way. Her luring eyes were hidden behind the thick designer shades she was wearing.
She strutted down the streets of New York City with no money searching for a gig, she had just gotten put out her mother's house for taking a rifle stand to sing secular music, defending her decision. Her mother Ms. Glady's was very holy and despise the fact she desired to sing secular music. So, she left deciding to start fresh in the big city.
At the age of forty five Honey looked twenty nine and knew it, she was confident in herself with a lying tongue witch rolled off deceit, she had the mind of PHD graduate, book smart, but, used knowledge to sabotage to her advantage.
She could have chose to go to Harvard University considering she received a scholarship to attend but decline the once in a lifetime offer, placing her dream before everything.
Honey watched as the cars by-passed on by as she stood standing in front of a boutique she had a remainder of twenty dollars, she ruffled her fingertips in her pockets and scuffed. "I need money for a hotel," she said lowly to herself.
She turned around on her heels, staring into her eyes was a red strapless designer dress, red was Honey's favorite color. Honey removed her shades with a smile. The dress sparkled reflecting from the chandelier above, twinkling her eyes in awe. She loved the color red, she looked in the store for a store clerk, knowing she would have to steal the dress. She notice the store clerk whom was a heavy-set stout Hispanic women with dark long hair that stopped to her mid back.
It was on display so Honey knew without a doubt it was expensive.
She walked in the store putting on a façade as if she was traveling in from England to New-York on a shopping spree, she grabbed the women's arm stalling her as she plotted away in that devious mind of hers to steal the dress, speaking in a British accent. The women was eating up Honey's words as if they where a full course meal, believing in the lies rolling off her tongue.
Honey led her over to the red dress that caught her attention. "See, I just love darling!" Honey gushed, holding her chest in amusement.
The stout women nodded, "Three thousand."
Honey rambled on, "Yes, I'm just flying in from England, and looking for something for my rendezvous tomorrow."
Abruptly, Honey grasped her chest dramatically, wobbling her knees collapsing to the floor. Breathing frantically she screamed. "Help, please!" The stout women panicked, she quickly ran into the direction of the telephone, Honey quickly stood back on her feet forgetting her skirt was hiked, revealing her undergarments.
She slid out the store in the process of taking off her heels running down the street not once looking back at the store. She suddenly looked up seeing a restaurant called Blue-Heaven's exquisite meals. Desperately needed to eat, she hadn't ate every since she landed.
She walked in the place of elegance, it was quiet if a pen would drop from the table you would most likely panic, she quickly shoved the dress in her purse to wear for her escapade tomorrow. A older white man whom looked to be in sixties approached her in a blue apron gasping holding his chest as if he was about to have a potential heartache. Honey was stunned, she smiled weakly keeping her composure, "Yes."
"You is she, mother El-Rose!" He pointed to a painting of a women whom had similar features like Honey, Honey smiled in delight, the women looked to be from England so she went about putting on her best false impression.
The women look to be very conceited, by the way her eyes were squinted slightly, her head tilted up with her nose in the air. Here goes nothing.
Honey extended her hand. "Show me to my table, please."
The butler smiled, "Yes mother."
Honey eyes roamed around, gushing at the elegant scenery. The restaurant looked like a true representation of heaven's kitchen, if heaven had a kitchen to call it's own. She sat down at the table with two golden chairs, Honey wondered why the other side of the table was set with bread place in the center, she shrugged nonchalantly not giving it any thought.
There was a black man in white playing a harp beside her and a running water fountain at the back of the restaurant. Glimpsing up, her eyes widen in amazement to see golden ceiling with golden chandeliers draping so elegantly. "The bread looks cold, more!" She ordered, to shoo him off for a second so she could call her mother.
After she rushing him off she quickly dialed her mother's number, she answered in seconds. "Mother, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to follow my dreams and find myself mother."
"Dreams, you need to come back home. God doesn't like what you are doing Charlene."
Honey rose in her seat, "It's Honey, God loves me mother and would love for me to follow my dreams and not waste my gift."
"Singing secular music!" Ms. Glady's yelled, "I can't talk to you Honey you need to pray to God and ask him to lead back to the church."
"But, mother, I-"
"No but's Charlene, God have gifted you and your music is to glorify him not the world."
The call declined, Honey looked up at the butler, he place a brown bowl of soup before her, the soup made her stomach churn. She shook head moving the bowl to the side, "No!"
The waiters eyes widen in excitement, "Your favorite!"
"No!"
The butler returned with various dishes of Honey's choice she ate until she was stuffed, she hope she didn't have to pay for the meals.
She heard sudden commotion, a crowd of begin bombarding the restaurant, banging on the window's, in walked a tall light-skinned guy dressed in all white suit. Honey's eyes lit up as she continued to indulge in her food, suddenly the mysterious gave her wink followed by a smirk. The butler appeared with a smile approaching him.
"Here she is, she's been waiting on you all night." Honey couldn't believe her eyes, it was a rapper, she could tell by his body language and the jewels draping from his neck. As he gotten in prepupal vision she notice he was heading in her direction, she stood up to run off. "I cancel my flight to see you ma, I see you found my new spot."
