Before returning home, Gu Qingxin took Bai Qianqian to the mall planning to buy a purse for their mother.
Gu Qingxin selected a modestly priced store. Once inside, they chose a black leather handbag with an embroidered design, which was quite suitable for their mother's age group.
"Miss, you have wonderful taste. This design is our designer's top pick for this year," remarked the store clerk.
"What do you think?" Gu Qingxin asked Bai Qianqian.
"It's beautiful," Bai Qianqian concurred.
"Then it's decided. Please wrap it up for me. I will pay by card," Gu Qingxin said, following the clerk to the cashier counter.
Just as they were about to pay, a harsh female voice came from behind them, "Where is the purse I was looking at? Didn't I say I wanted to buy it! How could you sell it?"
"We're sorry, Miss, but our customer decided to purchase it. Our store policy is first come, first serve. Although you looked at it earlier, you didn't actually purchase it," the clerk explained.
