Just as she reached the doorstep, she noticed the front door wide open, and a group of strangers wearing moving company uniforms were ignoring her parents' pleas and moving their belongings out.
Her mother stood in the middle of the living room, her head lowered, silently crying.
Her father was following the moving company workers, snatching back each item they moved and returning it to its place. As he busied himself, he shouted at them, "You bunch of bastards, all of you get out of here! This is my home, and you have no right to make a mess here!"
Xie Yunlu stood facing the door and hadn't noticed Ye Anxin standing right behind her. She spoke disdainfully, "Your home? What a joke. I've lived for over twenty years, and I've never seen people as shameless as you, occupying someone else's property and acting like it's justified! I'm telling you, Ye Anxin and Mu Rufeng's engagement is off, you have no right to stay in this house anymore! Be smart and pack your things and leave quickly! Or else... I won't be polite!"
Father Ye gasped and dropped the stool he was holding in shock, his voice shrill as he shouted, "Canceled the engagement? Why? On what grounds? Our Anxin has been with him since she was seventeen, for three years, and he thinks he can just end it like that? No, we won't agree!"
Xie Yunlu sneered, "Ha... Truly a family without shame, the engagement is canceled, yet they're still clinging on, unwilling to let go!"
Standing behind her, Ye Anxin couldn't stand it any longer, taking a decisive step into the doorway and forcefully slamming the security door shut.
The loud sound startled Xie Yunlu, causing her to turn quickly, and upon seeing Ye Anxin, her panic vanished instantly, replaced by the same smug look as before.
Ye Anxin suppressed her rage, speaking coldly, "Xie Yunlu, take your people and get out now, or I won't be polite to you!"
Xie Yunlu crossed her arms and gave Ye Anxin a disdainful side-eye, "Ye Anxin, you've finally shown up? I thought you'd chickened out and wouldn't dare to face me!"
Ye Anxin didn't back down and immediately fired back, "What would I be afraid of! I'm straightforward, unlike some who disgrace women, who instead of being a decent woman, opt to be a mistress, not ashamed but proud of it! Xie Yunlu, I'm telling you, this is my home, we don't welcome you here, get lost immediately, go back where you came from!"
Xie Yunlu smiled provocatively at Ye Anxin, took a neatly folded document from her handbag, and opened it in front of Ye Anxin, "This is the rental contract, if you have any brain you'd remember, this house was rented to you by Rufeng! Now you two have no relation, so I naturally have the right to take back the house! Let me tell you, now I'm the lady of the house, you bring your freeloading parents and scram, or else... Ye Anxin looked at the rental contract in Xie Yunlu's hand, a breath caught in her throat, unable to swallow or spit it out, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
